Ah, the coffee shops⌠! There were so many of them in the city, each one with its own flavours and specialty drinks and cozy places to relax and drink⌠if there was one thing she could pinpoint as the highlight of being brought to this city, it was all the coffee she could indulge herself in without anyone breathing down her neck about her caffeine addiction.
She had just finished ordering hers and was waiting by the delivery counter, taking in the scents with a tail wagging so fast for such a simple pleasure. She was snapped out of it the moment her attention was called, though, the blissful look on her face instantly replaced with one more neutral.
âOh. Just a moment?â Truly, or was he going to ask for more?
âIf you are going to ask for blessings, Iâm afraid I amâŚ. off duty.â
âYes.â
He had little desire to waste any more of her time, or his own, than was necessary. He had picked up on the changes in her body language, too, and it wasnât as if he could blame her for it.
â... blessings?â What? âNo, nothing of the sort. You can enjoy your break.â
âYou had no troubles ordering that drink.â
It did almost feel... ridiculous, in some fashion, to have to ask this. Still, it was ridiculous in another fashion entirely to have been put in this situation to begin with, wasnât it? Diluc had to stop himself from heaving a sigh. Sheâd been kind enough to stop and be willing to listen when sheâd had no need to.
âI havenât been in this place for very long, and a considerable amount is... different from what Iâm used to.â Reaching into his pocket, Diluc pulled out his own phone, very much near-dead (donât point that out). â... whatâs the correlation between this device and a payment?â
