For the past several months, there's only been a very slow trickle of posts/fics in the xmcu cherik tag. Let's try to breathe some life back into this incredible pairing!
With one clear winner of my poll, here's thirty prompts for the thirty days of April. (This is a super chill, laid-back event---do these in any order, interpret them as loosely as you like! Create in any medium! Fic, art, gifs, meta, incoherent screaming about the otp…all winners in my book.)

Doesn't really even need elaboration! Write that horrifically slow slow-burn. Gif every time McAvoy made insane fuck me eyes on screen. Make a playlist of songs about impossible love.

Because people might not click through 😅 I'll add a quick summary:
Secret Mutant has arguably been *the* annual event of this fandom for more than a decade! Some of your all-time favorite fics (and fanart) probably came from SM. (Including if you like any of my fics haha, just based on which ones have been ~my biggest hits~.) It's a shame to see the fandom way more active than it was a few years ago but so few prompts just a couple of days before the cut-off.
So: Help us keep SM alive! There are two parts:
Prompts: you add them now through the sign-up. You do not need to create anything beyond the prompt. They do not have to be polished, or "good ideas" or whatever—just something that you’d like to see someone create! One of my prompts is literally "write a character study" lol. You can include an optional "secret mutant letter" with your preferences, squicks, etc. Prompting is a wonderful low-commitment way to participate—in an event like this, it's just as vital as creating the fanworks.
Creating: If you have the bandwidth to write a fic or make some art in the next month or so, claim a prompt! There's no pressure if you wind up having to drop it/don't finish in time. And the reveals are always so fun—genuinely one of my favorite parts of the holidays. I really love being able to create something that someone has requested as a gift (and if I get one of mine filled, a bonus!).

I’ve just learned about the loss of my buddy’s dear friend, Brent Chavez.
His fiancée Sarah (along with their two cats, Jericho and Olive Juice) are left without any sort of safety net in the aftermath, as she’s a student who relied on his income. She and the kitties are now forced to relocate on top of having to mourn the man she loves, and it’s horrible—she has no idea what she’s going to do.
My friend has set up a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses, as well as to help Sarah and the cats navigate the tragedy. Again, if you can’t afford to donate, just reblogging is beyond helpful!
