SAFIA GONZALEZ:
Safia stood nearby as she tried to catch her own breath, even bending at the waist to place her hands on her knees. It had been so long since her last run that sheâd falsely expected she could do the same route sheâd once did. Clearly, her body hadnât completely rebounded from its last ordeal which left her seeking a spot beside the male. âI feel the same way. Except I didnât eat anything and now it feels like Iâm about to pass out.â It was a bit dramatic but she surely didnât feel well enough to continue on the course sheâd been set on finishing. Her eyes moved towards him and then a little laughter escaped her lips. âYouâve never done that? Found a wallet and taken all the money only to return it by saying someone had found it before you?â Her head shook as she peered over him. âItâs classic.â
âNo? Sounds like a classic crime to meâ Rafael responded, wondering if he should feel silly for not knowing this âclassicâ move that she was speaking of. If he had only stayed home instead of deciding to have a productive morning then he wouldnât have gotten himself into this predicament. âWaitâŚhave you done that before?â Seeing that she pretty much assumed he stole from her, it was only fair of him to put the question to her. Rafael had worked up quite the appetite in such a short run, plus he skipped breakfast in favour of this failed morning jog. âWell, if I didnât feel so offended, I would have suggested a really nice breakfast place that isnât too far from hereâ
