“You get to say you told me so and then we go on a very brisk jog because if it doesn’t work out, we’re going to have some pretty pissed people on our hands. So really we both win, you get to prove me wrong and I get to dump some of the blame onto someone.”

“Brisk jog? Pissed people?” Rae found herself furrowing her brows. “What exactly are we going to be doing? This isn’t the slightest bit legal, is it?”

“Then you’re clearly too big of an optimist.” Flynn commented, looking at the other and wondering how he managed to get himself into this situation. “Maybe when I was five, not since then though. Though you would be right about being pretty hands on.” He commented with a small smirk and a wink.

“You wouldn’t be the first to say that to me,” she shrugged it off, nodding with a smile at his following words. The man’s suggestive remark flew right over her naive little head. “Great!”

“True, but it does make my days off hard- I just to relax, breathe, do some hobbies. And not think about how that guy is parked in a permit zone, without a permit.” Judy commented, eyes darting from the window back to the other in front of her.

“Relax, breathe, do some hobbies?” she echoed. “Sounds to me like yoga or meditation might do you well! Have you ever tried any of those? They could really help with shifting your focus, even if it’s only for an hour everyday.”

“I agree. It’s a shame some peoples faces wrinkle at the mention of it. I need to find someone who is equally as optimistic as me.” Annabeth admitted with a wistful sigh. 

“Well I’ll definitely be around to share your positivity if you need,” she assured the other with a smile.

“Yeah but I don’t remember any of my teachers ever doing that for me. Sometimes one of my classmates would bring something in for their own birthday but never the teachers,” Scarlett said, “Now that sounds like a one way ticket to being the best teacher in school. But like you said, would be pricey.”

“I’m going to be one of those people who are still working when they’re eighty, aren’t I?” Judy commented, leg bouncing under the table as she watched someone park in a non-permitted area outside the coffee shop she was sitting in. It was her day off and yet she couldn’t switch off her cop brain. “Granted, it might not be as an officer and more of a neighbourhood watch programme, but it’s still crime based.”

“Well I think it’s important that you’re so passionate about your job. It means you love what you do,” Raegan argued with a smile. “And you do great work. You’ve only got reasons to be proud.”

“Don’t worry, I can hear you, I’m well aware that you’re telling me this is a bad idea- I’m just saying that I’m going to go through with it anyways.” Flynn commented, looking to the other. “Things do tend to work out in my favour after all.” He lied, not that the other needed to know that.

“Alright then, say I let you go ahead with this plan of yours. What happens if it doesn’t work out in your favor? I get to say I told you so? Because I don’t like saying that often but for some reason I feel like it’d be satisfying to get to say that to you.”

Scarlett returned a few minutes later with the box, “Here you go,” She said, “It’s awfully nice of you to get cupcakes for your students.”

Annabeth laughed at that, leaning back in her seat. “Oh, I don’t know but then people do tell me I have an overly optimistic view on everything.” She confessed with a smile.

“Optimism is a great thing though,” Raegan argued. “You see the world in brighter colors and I think that’s wonderful.”

“Just remember to send me a photo. After wanting my advice I am dying to see what you end up going with.” Annabeth admitted with a laugh. “And I’d like to think Artists are the ones setting the trend so you’re not going to necessarily be seen in the current fashion. You’re way ahead of that.” 

“You’ve definitely got too much faith in me and my fashion sense, but I’ll accept the compliments,” she replied with a giggle. “And I’ll send you pictures.”

“Oh!” Scarlett replied, “Sorry, I didn’t take that order so it took me a minute. It’s out the back. Two seconds!”

“Um… what the hell are you talking about?”

“Would you mind helping me?” she looked wide eyed up at the other a small smile appearing on her lips. “I can’t seem to calm all these dogs down.” a laugh escaped her lips as she almost tripped on a leash. “Somethings setting them all off today, i can’t figure it out.” 

“Maybe they’re just hungry,” Raegan chuckled before crouching to coo at the dogs, petting them behind their ears and trying to calm them down. “Perhaps you should take them out by the lake and let them run or swim out all their energy?”

“We sure do,” Pietro replied with a grin, “I’ll show you. Follow me.”

“The good thing about black is that any color will go with it. Neon’s are in at the moment, you could put some bright heels with it or jewelry? But as I said the red is beautiful and you know your job better than me.”

“Hmm, accessories are a good call,” she considered. “I might go with the black and spice it up. Or choose a different dress altogether,” Rae added with a chuckle. “I’m not the most fashion forward so thank you! I’ll definitely take all your suggestions into consideration.”

“You don’t happen to have any art-related antiques in the store, do you?” Rae asked curiously, coming up to the counter with a smile.
