Radio Popstand, your multi-genre music radio station, will feature at this time four hours of the aforementioned multi genre music.

So, why has Popstand been off air? Why have I not been doing Popstand? Well, retirement is imminent within the next few days, and I've been so busy over the past few weeks setting up a new system to make sure everything works at work before I retire. I just haven't had time to do this.

Oh no, that's a terrible excuse, you know. Well, it's not an excuse; it's the reason.

Sunday, 1st February 2026, that's tomorrow, and Radio Popstand is on the air for its first transmission of 2026.

I'll tell you what we've got coming up in this broadcast. We've got our normal mix of multi-genre tracks, as you would expect from Radio Popstand. Since our last transmission didn't feature any tracks from the light music genre or any radio and TV themes, we're going to bring you more than a normal dose of those two genres.

We have a special mini-feature where we journey through the years:

100 years ago: A track from 1926

75 years ago: A track from 1951

50 years ago: A track from 1976 (hard as it is to believe that was 50 years ago)

25 years ago: A track from 2001

The present: A track from 2026, released only a few days ago

How do you tune into Radio Popstand?

You will need the Stationhead app, which is available on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. Please note that you will need a premium subscription to either Apple Music or Spotify to hear the actual music being played.

We are on the air at 13:30 (1:30 PM) Greenwich Mean Time/Universal Time. You'll need to convert that into your local time zone if you’re not in the UK. If you can't listen to the live broadcast, don't worry—you can use the Listen Again facility, which will be available shortly after the transmission concludes. Just go to the Radio Popstand profile page on Stationhead and select the transmission of 1st February 2026.

Popstand is back tomorrow (Sunday 30th November) via the Stationhead app at 13:30hrs Universal Time with much more multi-genre music.

And there’s a new feature involving a new word game that can be played after the show’s conclusion. The idea of the game is to find three hidden words in a 7 by 7 grid. The three words in question all appear within the Popstand playlist, which will appear in full at the end of Radio Popstand’s broadcast. A link to the game will be provided at the same time.

The name of the word game is WordHit! which is available as an app on iOS or can be accessed via the link that follows below.
