āSo I drank one, it became four, and when I fell on the floor I drank more. Nothing has changed, I still love you, I still love you.ā
ā Morrissey (via hplyrikz)
āWait for someone who says, āHoly crap, how did I get so lucky?ā when you walk in the door, absolutely exhausted from work at 6pm after being married for 30 years. Wait for that, itās more than worth it.ā

While visiting Zimbabwe this past week, I saw what most will never get to experience in their lifetime, I saw what most people just hear about or see on television, but until you see it with your own eyes, it won't sink in. The pain and hunger these people feel everyday, the living conditions, the little education and knowledge the children have, the distances they go to and walk everyday just to earn $1 is shocking. I went around this small village with some friends and we started handing out pens, highlighters, and pencils to the children and it broke my heart because these 2-7 year old children had no idea what I even handed them, some even tried to eat it thinking it was food. Most of us spend $10 at Starbucks with out thinking twice, and these people can live a week off of even just $5. So please donate, or share! Anything to help raise money for these children and families in this community. As I lay here in your arms, I remember the nights I endured before you. I think back to the constant trembling, how at a time like this Iād be curled up in my bed, my eyes the equivalent of bursting pipes after holding in my sadness throughout the day. If I was lucky, Iād have time to muffle the sobs. I wasnāt always lucky. I remember breaking when the ones before you left, walking out of the door with pieces of me in tow. But for the first time since then, I feel like I was never broken in the first place, just bent out of shape. Every time your arms tighten around me, I straighten out. Itās almost like you know, almost like you care enough to notice when I donāt seem whole and try to help, just like I would for you. Perhaps this is what love is supposed to be like.

I can relate to this
And thatās what I thought love was like: perfect. It isnāt. I thought love was supposed to make you feel like youāre invincible. It doesnāt. Loveās a wreck. Itās not like what they show you in movies or Ā pop songs. Itās terrible. But why am I still waiting for the one? Because even if love doesnāt make me feel invincible, it makes me feel alive. Those short, flashes of brilliance and happiness makes me feel like everythingās worth it.

I have not always been a good person. I have made mistakes. I was not always the victim. I have caused people pain. I have been toxic and I have been draining. Iāve not always been a good person. Iām not perfect now but I am better than who I used to be. I couldnāt move forward with my life before I admitted to myself that I had made mistakes. It takes courage to admit youāve fucked up in the past and to hod yourself accountable in order to better yourself. ā Hannah (hannah-ruth-x)Timeline Photoswww.facebook.com

Constellations.
If we cant change society, then we must do something to change ourselves. Itās within our own hands to steer our lives in the direction we want to go.
Sereno Sky from āLonely travellerā (via plumpips)
When a thing has served its purpose, it will go away. If you try to hold on to something that has already fulfilled its purpose in your life, you are going to hurt yourself. If holding on is disturbing your peace of mind, it makes sense to let go. Surrender all attachments to people and things that you have been struggling to hold on to.
Iyanla Vanzant (via amortizing)

These stunning photos capture just how exhausting micro aggressions can beĀ
Paula Akpan and Harriet Evans have launched theĀ āIām Tiredā project toĀ highlight the impact common microaggressions and stereotypes many face on a daily basis. By symbolically and literally carrying the aggressions on their backs, Apkan and Evans hope to help both the subjects and everyone else.
