This blog has been insanely inactive so this idea on ‘restoring’ my blog activity came into mind. As an initial step on sparking the momentum in this blog, I am here, about to tell you 50 purely random facts about myself.

I literally spent a lot of time coming up with 50 random facts. I should have made them 30 or less. But anyways, I feel happy that somehow, I am able to come up with 50. I do not mean to offend others because of my beliefs. If anyone of you got offended or something, just hit my inbox and we’ll sort it out peacefully. :)

Physical

I stand 5 foot 9 and a half inches above the ground.

I only weigh 55 kg and if you are to calculate my BMI (Body Mass Index) I’m sure that I am underweight.

I have many zits on my face and I’m not bothered by them. Lol.

My right index finger is damaged. Idk if it’s fractured or dislocated.

I have a pair of adorable dimples. ew HAHAHAHAHA

Hobbies

I can draw.

I do brush calligraphy.

I practice graphic designing.

I do page lay-outing.

I also practice video editing.

I am also into Instagram photography. HAHAHA

I dance a little. Lol

Reading books can save me from doing nothing.

Still sparkling, little stars? Here is another entry to be added under this series. We were not able to to weekly blogs last week bc everyone is so dam busy. Idk why I always keep explaining everything to you all but anyways, hello thereeee. I’ve missed y’all. 

This past few weeks, we tackled deeper about the cyber world, mainly focusing on cybercrime. Explanations aside, here my post comee! :))

AS A TYPICAL STUDENT BASICALLY A NOTHING, WHAT COULD I POSSIBLY DO TO AVOID EITHER COMMITTING OR BEING INVOLVED IN A CYBERCRIME?

Prior to this entry, our teacher highlighted the fact that as a normal student, how could we become able to prevent cybercrime. That mere fact alone cut my vision of being too much ambitious, saying too much I could barely do in real life. The vision of me standing and promoting my advocacy through social media to help prevent cybercrime was a bit far-fetched, looking at my situation at the moment. I am basically nothing against the vast online world.  I could not just tell you to be responsible, there are much more things after that. yes, I am certainly aware of the harm these coward people hiding beneath the screens cause; they are indeed hideous to think of some. Being just a “normal” student, honestly there is nothing huge I can do - NOTHING. But let me remind you that all things start small.

Let us think about things straight, there is just a simple yet effective way to prevent it. The mere fact that I am doing this blog thing serves a strong indication that I am certainly conscious or committed to my studies. The mere fact that I talk about this thing in front of you indicates that I am indeed aware of the things happening beneath those screens. I hope you are getting my point. Let me ask you this, what is a student supposed to be doing? STUDYING, yes but there is much more than that. As students, we don’t just study, we LEARN. It is a given fact that not all things we study are kept in our minds forever but things we learn, especially those morals we more probably stuck within our personality and way of thinking. Study and learn, yeah study and learn. What do you think is the purpose we are doing this whole blog thing? For compliance? For good grades? To impress? You know the answer, you definitely know the answer - FOR US TO LEARN, TO BE AWARE. Being aware of these things come in handy. We are being taught about the different types of crimes committed online. We are taught about the criminals’ probable tactics and plans. We are taught not just to see through the traps but instead, we are taught to learn how to make traps so that we will not fall for any of them. School tells us these things for us not to be like them but for us to be able to think like them-broader and smarter. We could possibly outsmart them if we started thinking like them. If they could say that they are smart after tricking a few people, I could say that you are smarter for you have not activated any of their traps.

Yaaaahz, before anything else, HAPPY NEW YEAR, TWINKLING STARSS!! This is yet another update on my blog series #CLDHEICT101 but our teacher decided to change the hashtag to #CLDHEI2017 probably to kind of sort out what was done in the past. To cut the explanations off, let me now begin. 

This week, we learned stuff about online security and safety. We were informed on what stuff are to be or not to be posted on social media platforms across the internet. 

Honestly speaking, I am well informed that the virtual world is pretty much like the real world. Many eyes are prying and many minds are plotting. It is indeed not as safe as we thought it to be. However, there  are still ways on which we can avoid cyber crime and strengthen our safety and security across the vast virtual world that is the internet. Now as a teen living in this century, how can I ensure my safety and security across the internet? First, let me put out this little disclaimer; I FIND IT REDUNDANT TO MENTION THE THINGS I LEARNED WHILE THE TOPIC IS DISCUSSED AT SCHOOL, SO I WILL JUST BLURT OUT MY WAYS. MY WAYS CAN BE DIFFERENT ON YOUR WAYS BUT WHO CARES? THIS IS HOW I THINK I MAINTAIN MY ONLINE SAFETY AND SECURITY.

Basically, this complicated online security thingy really is just common sense. I am a human person interacting with my fellow human persons. Therefore we, as humans have things to agree or disagree upon. What I am trying to say is that we, as human persons capable of rational thinking unlike any other creature, are granted this precious gift so-called “free-will.” This serves as our ticket to do things that we feel doing but on the other hand, privileges are likely to be abused. Upon undergoing these certain situations, this thing called “morality” appears into view. Morality, basically, is the person’s ability to know what is right and what is wrong. So theoretically speaking, a rational individual must be fully aware on how morality works. He must know what to avoid doing to maintain peace, I suppose. Yes, cliche it may seem but to me, people never really learn. They are indeed aware of the posed online safety and security threats yet they subconsciously offer themselves as bait, like a frail little prey in the middle of the jungle full of wild predators. When caught off guard, squealing and screaming never really works and you’ll realize that it’s too late to undo those reckless little actions that lead you to those unlikely situations. We often forget that, like what Uncle Ben says to Tony Parker, “With great power, comes great responsibility.” Yes, online freedom is indeed considered as “great power.” You are free to do stuff you are most likely to do but you shall never forget the responsibility it has always been associated with. As an individual leading towards early adulthood, it must be on our mindset that responsibility is indeed a key to a pleasant life.

As I end this long and somewhat philosophical entry, it is indeed a pleasure to have the opportunity to enhance my existing knowledge, not just about the internet safety and security, but also about morality through our curriculum subjects. This lesson surprisingly touched my life more than I expected it could.

This 2016… - I’ve witnessed the world’s longest fireworks display which lasted for an hour. - I had a dance with her during our ball. - I laid out our school paper’s last issue. (The Work Jr.) - I graduated as an Academic Excellence Awardee for fourth year in a row. - I am one of the last eagles which were nurtured within the grounds of our alma mater, Tarlac State University - Laboratory High School. 💙 - I’ve been into the Hundred Islands National Park in Alaminos, Pangasinan. - I’ve watched tons of animes, thanks to Rupert for being my ultimate source. - I’ve cultured lots of pimples scavenging my face. 😂 - I’ve decided to be more dedicated on this blog. - I am also one of the students in the Philippines who have undergone the new K-12 Curriculum. - I became a CLista. 💚 - I became one of our school paper’s cartoonist and lay-out artist. - I became a part of our schools men’s volleyball team. - I became a part of the school’s Performing Arts Club. - I turned 17! 😂 - I achieved the second highest mark among all other senior high school students in our school during the first semester. - I won gold in Poster Making at UP Sandiwa’s PATAASANDIWA 2016. - I got my iPad Air ✨ - I went to Enchanted Kingdom with my JHS Squad. - I went to an unplanned trip to Capas National Shrine with SHS Squad. - I went ice skating with my siblings. - I met tons of new people. - My friendship with others became strong. - I became deeply attached to people around me. - My faith has gone even more stronger. - I love my family even more and I spent the last day of 2016 and the first day of 2017 with them. - Lastly, I celebrated my last moments of 2016 and earliest moments of 2017 at Ciudad de Victoria, Bocaue, Bulacan.

This post was never intended to brag or anything of some sort. I do this as a reminder for myself that 2016 was indeed a fruitful year for me as an individual and I just want to appreciate God's blessings in this little life of mine.

Celebrating the New Year’s Eve with people I love have brought me extreme joy and happiness. As 2016 concludes, I would like to thank God for always guiding me and leading me to the right path. Also I would like to take this opportunity to thank every people whomever I kept in touch within this year. My year would never be the same without you, guys. HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 🎆

CAPAS, TARLAC - A spot of great sights.

Hours after our school’s year-end party, we were then sure enough to spend free time at SM. We thought that things would go smoothly but we were clearly wrong. Large amount of people are coming in and out of every shop and a lot of students happened to have their school trips. After minutes of walking, we came across Jemerleen and Klm, both from Capas, we then jokingly told them to go to the Capas Shrine and to our surprise, they were more than enough willing to spearhead our little tour. So then it went smoothly.

We, a company of 9 people, rode a 30-minute ride to the town proper and another 10 minutes, more or less, to the Shrine itself. The ride went swiftly as we were enjoying and drowning ourselves with the new sights the place has to offer. With her greatest generosity, Klm paid for our entrance fees to the place. Just as we expected, we went crazy taking bits of photographs really looking like eager tourists on their first tour ever. As we reached the center piece of attraction, the lapis, we went leaving our stuff behind and prepped ourselves for the greatest photoshoot of our lives. We were lucky enough that we were actually wearing our best ootd’s and  I could personally say that we nailed it. Hahaha. 

Just so the trip continues. We went to the back part of the park where we should see a hanging bridge leading to a floral garden. The walk was again headed by Klm and Jem who appears to know the place well. As we walked with mirth, one of our friends, Leles, had no idea her new pair of Stan Smiths were stained with blood. Later did she knew that it was indeed from her own leg, as a sign that her feet would soon give up but she remained persistent and continued the long walk. After 10 minutes or so, we have reached our destination. It was indeed a good sight. As promised, we saw a hanging bridge but the floral garden they initially endorsed was sadly gone. Nevertheless, we didn’t miss the chance to take good instagrammable pics. As we head back to the lapis, we took a shorter route which featured a wildflower “plantation” (sorry i have no other words. Lol)

Just in time when we arrived on much better grounds, our friend Gaia is literally losing her mind for she is anxious of what might her parents will do to punish her. As supportive friends, we never ran out of comforing words to make her at ease. Before 4:00 pm, we left the place and merrily headed home. What a memorable unplanned trip, indeed. ☺💕✨Thanks to Klm, Jemerleen, Ace, Rica, Leles, Vianca, Levie and Gaia who made this trip possible and as enjoyable as we imagined it to be. Hahahaha ✨

Hello twinkling stars! One more piece of my thoughts to add up my collection of weekly posts in this series. This entry might be a bit boring but I don’t care. Lol.

This week, we are asked to post something about one computer software or application which presented a huge help not just with our daily lives but also for our academics and/or leisure. So this is what I came up with...

CHROME, A THING EVEN MORE PRECIOUS THAN GOLD

I once had a dream of me doing such great and fantastic things. In that dream, I COULD DO EVERYTHING. Literally everything from soaring up the high skies, beneath the fluffy clouds to diving deep below the abyss of a wide ocean; from delicately floating across the vast universe to eating on a planet made entirely of food. It was that kind of dream you don’t want to wake up from. It was a pure joy - a strange and unusual sensation touching every bit of your senses making you feel to want to have more. Ever since then, I am longing for that sensation, that freedom to do everything you wanted to. I always ask my self if I will have my chance to feel it again. I always wished to dream the same dream over an over again but reality is much stronger. I long for that sensation not until 2008. Google made my dream a reality. I haven’t got my hands onto that thing not until I was a 5th grade student somewhere between eleven and twelve years of my existence.

Watching my 13 year-old brother that time was very entertaining for me. He clicks many things I am so curious to see for myself; he types series of letters and numbers and doing a lot of stuff on that computer. Out of curiosity, I asked, “Kuya Don, nanu yan?” He answered me almost immediately. “Internet. Google Chrome ya ining awus keni.” Then I asked, “Nanung gagawan mu ken?” “Adyang nanu pwedi mung gawan keni. Mamyalung games, mag-facebook, maglawe makatulang pictures, malbeng videos, gawang assignment...marakal.” He answered back.

That moment felt like a déjà vu for me. That sensation I have been longing to has came back. My little mind sparkled with so much things. I imagined myself in front of the computer from sunrise to sunset, playing endless number of games on y8.com and watching my favorite cartoons on YouTube. The joy, the mirth, everything came back to me just like how they came through me with that dream. What is different now is that this time, it is real and I can have it anytime at my will.
