When the last sim of a household dies/moves out, do you leave the house/lot as it was, and then new sims have to have the amount of money that it’s worth to move in to it?

Do you ever add sims into the world and then evict them and move them into other households, so that you have townies that you actually want? Or do you just let sims generate whatever it pulls from your gallery? I have a ton of sims in my gallery and for some reason it is only pulling the ugly ones 😂 But I know the rule is you can only create a sim whenever a new business is unlocked. Technically these sims wouldn’t be playable though soooo

Yes when Sims die or move out of the household I keep the house and furnishings as is and then a new sim can move in. I try to keep it up until I run of room in my city, then I will bulldoze as needed.

So she began dreaming of something different. What if there was a place where wine and books came together? A cozy, welcoming winery-bookstore where misfits, romantics, and daydreamers could gather. No pretense, no judgment, just good stories and good wine shared among friends.

Kenji Tanaka once designed cutting edge tech for sleek corporate offices and ultra-modern smart homes. As a highly respected engineer in the city, he lived in a world of schematics, sterile labs, and endless innovation. But over time, something about that world began to feel… hollow. He was solving complex problems for people who didn’t need real solutions, just newer gadgets.

So, he walked away from it all.

Kenji came to Willow Creek seeking something real, something human. Now, he crafts furniture by hand in a modest workshop in his garage, trading motherboards for maple, and code for craftsmanship. To him, every table leg and dovetail joint is a puzzle to be solved, a quiet act of purpose.

He’s calm, kind, and a bit of a perfectionist. Though quick to lend a hand, he has little patience for laziness, wastefulness, or cutting corners. Kenji believes a well-made chair says more about a person than any résumé ever could.

Carmen Garcia didn’t follow a map to Willow Creek, she followed her senses. The scent of yeast, the pull of warm sun on bare skin, the dream of building something soulful from scratch. Raised above her aunt’s tiny bakery in the heart of the city, Carmen grew up with flour-dusted hands, music in her bones, and big dreams simmering just beneath the surface.

She’s a free spirit with a sharp eye for beauty, a talent for flavor, and a fierce desire to turn her joy into a business. Her vision? A whimsical bakery café tucked in the heart of town, where the walls are covered in wildflowers and every scone feels like a love letter. A space for connection, community, and cozy indulgence. Where you can trade gossip over guava empanadas or sip herbal tea while music plays on vinyl.

Carmen lives for color, comfort, and creativity. She bakes barefoot in aprons, sketches café layouts on napkins, and adds edible flowers to nearly everything. She believes pleasure isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity. Her hedonism isn’t reckless, it’s intentional: a way of reclaiming joy, one cupcake at a time.

Right now, she’s baking from her home kitchen and selling her treats from a table in her front yard, slowly growing a following of loyal customers. She doesn’t have much, but what she does have is hers. And it’s enough to start.

Carmen Garcia is a wild-hearted baker with business plans tucked into her recipe book. She’s not chasing perfection, she’s chasing freedom, flavor, and a life rich in every sense of the word. And when she finally opens that café, it’ll be more than a place to eat, it’ll be a place to feel.

Glad you are having fun with this challenge! I made an example spreadsheet. But If 2 households marry I just add them under one household. And separate each household with a grey line. Hope that helps!

Lucas Olsen didn’t come to Willow Creek for community; he came for land. Raised on a multigenerational farm that was swallowed by greedy developers, Lucas still carries a chip on his shoulder the size of a tractor. He’s a man of the land, through and through. He trusts dirt more than people, and his crops more than government.

Lucas prides himself on doing things his way. He built his home with salvaged lumber, grows food with zero modern tech, and scoffs at town meetings. He only enjoys them when he’s yelling at someone in attendance. His temper is quick, his opinions are old school, and he’s not shy about saying what he thinks people should be doing, especially women.

Underneath the rough edges is a deep sense of pride and self-reliance. Lucas genuinely wants the town to succeed. He just thinks he knows best how to do it. He’ll help you raise a barn, fix your roof, or haul a water tank uphill… then insult your life choices before walking off in muddy boots.

Some see him as a relic. Others see him as a foundation. Either way, Lucas Olsen is rooted and not going anywhere.

Disclaimer: Obviously I don't condone sexism. But the characters I create and play aren't perfect which makes them more fun. Plus just like people he may grow and change, we shall see.

Backstory:

Veronica Rochester was born into wealth, privilege, and high society. The Rochesters were a powerful family with old money ties and an even older reputation. Growing up in a penthouse with private tutors, designer clothes, and gala invitations by age ten, Veronica was always expected to follow a glittering, predictable path. Boarding school, business school, and then a carefully arranged career as a figurehead in the family’s elite empire.

But Veronica was never content being a symbol. She didn’t just want status, she wanted control.

Long ago, the land now known as Willow Creek was untouched wilderness. There are whispers of an old trade route, abandoned mining tunnels, and a long-gone railway station. Whispers are all that remain of its mysterious past. Forgotten by time and overlooked by maps, this isolated town has sat dormant, waiting for dreamers to rediscover its potential.

In the aftermath of growing urban overcrowding, rising living costs, and a generation yearning for something different, a small group of bold settlers decided to break away from the chaos of the big city. Drawn together by a shared vision of simplicity, sustainability, and second chances, they journeyed to the far edge of civilization to reclaim this hidden land and build a better future.

The settlers arrived using all the money they could scrape together for building supplies and built their dream homes. And though the town was fortunate enough to receive a loan from a rich, mysterious benefactor to build a power plant and water tower there wasn't much else. There are no schools or hospitals, yet. But there's freedom. Possibility. Room to build not just homes, but legacies.

Each Sim has their own reason for coming: some fled burnout and corporate life, others were running away from their past, and a few seek to build generational wealth and rewrite their family stories from the ground up.

Now, the town begins with just a patch of land, a few homes and the unwavering belief that Willow Creek can become a thriving community—if the settlers can work together, survive the early hardships, and build the land up piece by piece.

Will this hopeful settlement rise into a bustling town full of life and culture, or crumble under the pressure of survival?
