Older alterhumans have just as much (if not sometimes more) capacity to be as biased and misinformed as any alterhuman younger than them. Age does not make wisdom, age does not dictate how worthwhile someone is to listen to.

It is worthwhile to approach someone who has more knowledge in a specific field, discipline, or craft than you and ask them for advice on that specific topic, but that's circumstantially based on what someone has actually done, not age. In this same way, age also does not make knowledge.

Therianthropy and alterhumanity are not talked about in a good light anywhere that I see, and my entire social circle is filled with people who make fun of them constantly. I feel like I can never be open about this part of myself because of this, like I need to keep it hidden.

As a child, I always felt connected to animals, specifically canids like wolves and coyotes and some feline species. I was obsessed, but not in a normal childlike way, but I felt like I was one with them. I was the kind of kid to spend recess on all fours running around and barking like I was a wolf. It always felt normal to me, like that is just what I am.

I would have dreams (I still do) consistently in a coyote or wolf’s body, running through the wilderness of North America. It always felt right to me, if that makes sense??

I would experience shifts, phantom senses, and similar feelings I could never put a name to.

When I heard about therians, I instantly knew something connected. In early high school, I would join therian online communities, engage with others like me, before realizing that this was something individuals got heavily bullied for, so I left out of fear.

Now that I’m an adult with more self confidence, I feel a need to explore and accept this part of myself before these feelings eat me alive. None of the things I’ve experienced ever stopped, and honestly they’ve only gotten harder to ignore.

Honestly, if there are any PNW therians or alterhumans out there (or honestly anywhere) who wanna talk about this at all, I’d be so happy to connect with others out there!!!
