I keep thinking about how Miriam had to stay standing for 20+ hours. Potions and healing spells or not, that is disturbing. Her whole situation was disturbing and heartbreaking. But the idea that she was stuck standing there—and if she moves too much her friend will die, so a lot of that is willpower—that creeps me out. Like a slow, sick torture.

It gets worse when you think about it, because it might not have just been Prepotente who died if Miriam had moved. Remember, he has the rest of the goats-Bianca and his unaltered siblings-in his inventory in carriers. If Pony had broken and his inventory wasn’t recoverable, Miriam wouldn’t have just lost him, she would have lost her entire herd, who she considered her own children. And even if she had been able to recover them, it’s not safe for her to have them in her own inventory due to her vampiric status. So she might have lost them all anyways…..
