Quinceanera

Hola chicas!

I know I’m very fairly inactive on here, but I’m really trying to change that. I’m using this post to find out what you guys what me to post more of. Decor? Food? DIYs? Practical planning tips? Specific themes? I’ve also been thinking of making a Pinterest page, making separate boards for all of the above. 

Let me know in my inbox your stance on the above topics, and tell me anything else you want/need to see! I have to get everyone’s opinions so I can continue posting.

red velvet like the fabric, not the cake, right? lol maybe a casino theme, maybe a masquerade theme, or an old hollywood theme! red velvet pairs well with gold glitter, black and white.

To me, purple looks cute with an aqua blue and pinky-peach color for an under the sea theme. It also looks good with red and black for a casino/vegas theme. You can also mix it with some light green AND dark green to make a cute spring-y color palette. If it’s a darker purple, mix it with some other deep colors and have a Moroccan vibe.

If you have any other man that has been like a father figure to you, or literally any positive male influence, and you want to ask them to do it with you, I would! If it’s someone you’re close with, I’m sure they’d love being asked.

If not, honestly, fuck it! You don’t need any man to authenticate YOUR night of becoming a woman. It’s for you and the people you love. Men aren’t necessary to make things valid. If you want, just say screw it and skip it!

Okay. Hm. This may be way too expensive for most people, but you could always have two dresses. You could take half of your quince pictures in the dress that she likes, or maybe wear that for the ceremonial part of the party. You could maybe afford both more easily if you bought them both on consignment, either in person or online. The puffy dress would be more expensive than whatever kind of dress you want (short? fitting?).

If you can’t blow that much on dresses, I’m not sure how to combine the colors. Unless you found a dress that had both and was still cute. lol. Because they do have dresses with an accent color but those can get pretty ugly so just be mindful. 

You could combine the style of dresses, though, because they do make detachable dresses. I’ve seen a bunch that go from long and puffy to shorter and more homecoming-style. If you wanted more of a prom/wedding style dress, I’m not sure if they have detachable dresses that turn into that but you could always look! I’ve never searched specifically for detachable dresses so I don’t know everything that’s out there.

As for your hair, I’d go to pinterest and search something like “wedding short hair styles” or “short prom hair styles”. Pinterest is literally the best tool ever because it condenses every idea anyone’s ever had and is like a perfect visual guide for anything you’re planning. 10/10 would recommend

It’s totally normal not to have a theme! It’s just something some people like to have. Tons of people have non-themed quinces, I’d say maybe even the majority. As for your hair, I think it’d look super nice half-up/half-down. Something like these:

Depends on which kind of decorations you want. I’d suggest going on pinterest (or my blog!) to search for DIYs and then see what you need for those if you find something you like. Other than that, dollar tree does have some nice looking things (that you can buy in bulk online). Also amazon has suuuper competitive prices on literally anything you would ever want. Target has some decor/party supplies that I’d look at only after you’ve checked amazon’s prices. Lastly, I’d check Party City as a last resort, since it tends to be pricey.

As for dresses, if you’re looking online, I’ve never bought one from a website so I don’t have any specific recommendations beyond the links I’ve posted. (Which, again, not personally recommended/guaranteed, they’re just things I’ve seen by literally googling ‘quinceanera dresses’.) I’d ask some people who have already bought dresses online and see what they could suggest. Personally, I’d rather look in a dress store near you, which you’ll have to google. Secondhand shops are great for dresses because the prices are significantly lower and most of the time they’ve only been worn once. Check stores that sell prom dresses and the like.
