BACKGROUND

Originally born Liena Tsui, Liena’s mother worked hard to keep them afloat, and make sure her daughter was fed. Her father was a drunk, and kept getting fired from his jobs, always showing up late, hungover or even still drunk. Liena’s mother refused to leave him, thinking he would change eventually. He’d not been like that until Liena had come along. 

Unfortunately, no matter how hard her mother worked, there was barely any money. She worked several jobs, but Liena’s father would often gamble it away. He barely paid any attention to his daughter, leaving Liena to fend for herself from a young age. 

She was 12 when her mother passed away from a freak heart attack, the doctors unsure as to why the woman didn’t make it. Liena was heart broken, and left alone. 

It was shortly after that, Liena’s father lost the house due to losing his source of income. Liena was put into foster care and she never saw her father again. She’s still unsure as to what happened to him.

Liena was 13 when she was placed with the Vargas’. She was very closed off and quiet at first, as she had learned over the years to fend for herself and stay out of sight and out of earshot. She soon became more comfortable with Akio and Miguel, eventually coming out of her shell. 

They officially adopted her at 16, and she became Liena Vargas, and could not be happier about it. She adores her huge family, even if she is still quiet and closed off at times.

Liena mostly kept to herself in school, however she’d grown up with Lucy James; her best friend and confidant. 

It was shortly after the Vargas’ adopted her that she came out as lesbian.

Her most significant relationship was Sailor, who she dated for a year and a half before they split. She still cares about the other and they’ve remained friends. 

She didn’t go to college, and eventually became the activities coordinator at the retirement home, which she loves.

BACKGROUND

Jordan was born the eldest of three girls to the Cassidy family, a relatively wealthy couple that lived in Charleston. Jordan had everything she could ever ask for, the girl was borderline spoiled, though her parents were often absent, and so Jordan was always looking out for her younger sisters.

She’d been a fairly friendly, outgoing child and always been very generous. She’d tried to help those she could. 

Her family life took a turn as she got older, and Jordan picked up on it rather quickly. Hushed conversations, police raids and then when she was sixteen, her mother was arrested. Rumours flew around the school and Jordan was pissed. Her mother been sent away changed the other almost completely, Jordan building ridiculously high walls to block out all the whispers and cut off practically everyone that hadn’t already decided they didn’t want to be associated with her anymore. Her father got sent to jail a little over a year later. She found out her family’s money had mostly stemmed from their long list of crimes and Jordan was furious. 

Jordan was thrown into foster care at the age of 17, almost immediately separated from her sisters. No one wanted to take in all three, especially when one was practically an adult. Jordan was placed with Aileen’s parents, moving from Charleston school to Wakefield Public. She was the new girl, and she despised every second of it. She mostly kept to herself, but did befriend Aileen over the how horrible her parents were. 

Jordan worked part time at the Lot, picking up as many shifts as she was allowed and saving every single penny she could. The second she turned 18, she opted out of the system. She finished HS shortly, but her grades weren’t the greatest. Jordan picked up more shifts at the Lot, and took up two other jobs before she could finally get a place on Pinfold Paddock. It was small, and run down, and needed a lot of work, but she was no longer with the Delgado’s, and she had a roof over her head and space if her sisters needed it.

When Harlow graduated, she came to live with Jordan while she found her footing. By this time, Jordan had actually managed to make the house seem somewhat liveable. It was hard when her sister left, and Jordan felt lonely, but she refused to let it show, concealing her emotions behind an air of nonchalance. 

Jordan worked until she had enough money saved up that she could quit her other jobs and just work at the Lot. She’s very protective over the money she has saved, and barely uses it unless she has to. She’s very minimalistic and rarely spends money on herself, but would happily lend it to her sisters if they needed it.

Jordan struggled to let people in, and so her dating life has been relatively sparse She made a few friends over the years, but it takes her forever to warm up to people. A couple of almosts, but her most significant relationship was with Grayson.

Her relationship with Grayson surprised her, the other seemed far too sweet and she never really felt good enough for him. They dated for nine months, until two years ago. Jordan was wrongly accused of a crime, and being the lead suspect. The evidence pointed to her, and she was even held in custody for fourty eight hours before they couldn’t actually charge her yet. Eventually they realised they had the wrong person and she was cleared, however, Jordan grew bitter, especially with her background. One of the officers on the case had been Zylan, and Jordan was mad he didn’t believe her when she told him it wasn’t her, despite the evidence pointing to her. She cut off all ties with her friend after that, and she expected Grayson to leave her. When he didn’t, Jordan freaked, knowing he was too good for her so she became self destructive and sabotaged the relationship. She hates herself for hurting him, but she believed it was for the best.

After things ended with Grayson, she hasn’t dated again, sticking to just flings, usually going back to Roman - despite being annoyed that she’s attracted to him, They’d had an on and off fling for years, with Jordan often claiming she’s never going back to him, and then doing it anyway. 

She became more shut off again when she was wrongly accused, most of the progress she made opening up to people stopped, her wallls growing again.

She’s still pretty self destructive and does a lot of dumb shit and starts stupid arguments with people that are usually pretty meaningless. She won’t ever do anything illegal though, despite being self destructive, she doesn’t want to end up like her parents; wanting to prove she’s not like them.

Oliver was born to the Kendall family, known for being strict, rich assholes. However, Arabella Kendall was a soft, warm-hearted girl and most people didn’t believe she’d come from such horrid parents. Arabella never had much luck in love, and had found herself falling for someone she knew she shouldn’t. A  man whom cheated on his wife with her. It was a one time thing, something Arabella knew couldn’t happen again, something she wanted to pretend never happened. Except, she fell pregnant, and she left her parents to have the child, not wanting him to grow up as she had. 

Arabella was determined to make it on her own, but unfortunately, she passed giving birth to Oliver, leaving him with a name and a small wooden charm she’d carved him, that he wears on a string around his neck and refuses to take it off.

His Grandparents were alerted and they immediately brought him back to their home, as they had still been Arabella’s next of kin, as she’d not gotten around to changing it. They didn’t want to make the mistakes they made with their daughter and this time, they were far more cruel in the hopes he wouldn’t turn out as soft. They wanted Ollie to be a hardened businessman, shaping him to be the perfect family heir.

He was home schooled, in an attempt to cut him off from making connections with people that could ‘corrupt’ him, so he’s a little awkward and unsure how to interact with people most of the time.

Over the years, his grandfather’s treatment grew crueler, and Ollie became littered in bruises and scars. He was terrified, and barely left the house. 

When he did, however, he was found by Ellie Waters, who had been a close friend of Arabella’s and promised to look out for her son. She was horrified at the treatment of the boy, and had him taken away from his grandparents, who were sent to jail. 

Ellie took Ollie in herself, and at first, he was confused and overwhelmed. He suddenly had a new family, but he really didn’t know what that meant. Eventually, he warmed up to the Waters, and is forever grateful to them for accepting him into their family when he knew they didn’t have to.

The summer he was 16, Ollie met Zachary Simms. The first boy he’d ever had a crush on, and how Ollie realised he was gay. The two had a brief summer romance as Zach actually lived in Charleston at the time, and he was also Ollie’s first kiss. 

Ollie came out when he was 17, and at first he was terrified, as his grandparents had been openly homophobic, but the Water’s accepted him with open arms. Slowly but surely, he began to come out of his shell more.

Ollie is very shy, and very awkward, and actually went to school when he was adopted by the Waters’. However, starting school at 15 wasn’t the best experience, he had no idea how to talk to people, and he struggled hard to keep up with the rest of his year group. Eventually he just scraped passable grades, and actually made a few friends.

Due to this, Ollie didn’t go to college, instead working at the Arcade where he’d spent a lot of his time after the Waters’ had adopted him and the boy had gained freedom.

He’s not actually dated anyone, apart from that summer romance with Zach back when they were in HS. He’s occasionally made out with one or two people while he’s drunk, but he’s a hopeless romantic at heart but he’s also terrified off being that vulnerable with people. 

Has absolutely no idea who his father is, and has no intention of finding out, as he had always been told the man didn’t want him. 

He’s come a lot more out of his shell these days, but sometimes he can still shut down if anything triggers memories of his abuse. He’s been diagnosed with PTSD, and goes to a therapist every week.

BACKGROUND

Quinn was the youngest born to the Danvers family. She often looked up to her older brother Leo, and the twins- Ryder and Sophie. She adored them all, often trailing behind them excitedly.

While she loved Ryder and Leo, Quinn often found herself going to Sophie, especially for advice about girl things, especially as she got older. 

Quinn was a very happy go lucky child, constantly trying to make the best out of everything. She was a curious child, and sometimes she often got in trouble, always sneaking off on adventures. 

She was sixteen when her cousin died. At first, Quinn was in denial. Her cousin, who she’d always looked up to, couldn’t be gone. She was too young, she had so much more to live for. Quinn spiralled slightly, especially after watching her cousin spiral. 

Quinn became rather cut off with most, and became ridiculously spontaneous and reckless. It had hit her hard, and she went with the motto that life is short, so you should live it to the fullest. 

Quinn did some dumb shit, and worried a lot of people. She didn’t mean to, but she couldn’t shake her new mindset.

She went to college in Chicago, where she dated Henry, only breaking up with him when she moved back to Wakefield. She absolutely adored the other, and he was her first love. 

She started working as a server when she got back, and has been there for about a year now.

Still ridiculously reckless, scared she’ll miss out on things. Due to this, she’s a wildcard and no one really knows how she’ll react to anything or what she’ll do.

Very skeptical of new people coming into her lives, and then lives of people close to her. 

Did actually blame Miles for several years, but she’s cool with him now.

BACKGROUND

Sadie didn’t have a lot growing up, both her parents worked tirelessly but they never seemed to have much luck. Things were always breaking or needing replacing, and they were in a house that constantly needed renovating - they just didn’t have the time or cash to do it. 

Her parents both worked two jobs each, and Sadie was constantly passed between her parents siblings’ to be babysit. It’s why she’s so close to both the Bissell’s and the James’. Despite Gideon being much older, and the James Twin’s being much younger, Sadie saw enough of them that they grew up close.

Sadie was always ambitious, even when she was little, and would often speak her mind. She’s not usually one to sugar coat things, and exudes confidence - she’s usually a force to be reckoned with. 

Her confidence usually makes her many friends and connections, as she’s not afraid to start a conversation. She’s also not afraid to go after what she wants, and is usually very upfront about it.

She didn’t leave after high school, working in several clothing stores around Charleston and commuting to work. She studied part time online doing a business course, wanting to have her own brand one day. 

Sadie moved out into an apartment of her own as soon as she could afford it, rooming with someone for a while, as she no longer wanted to put a strain on her parents, who could relax a bit more now Sadie could take care of herself.

Sadie squirrelled away every bit of money she could, until she turned 25, when she could finally afford to open her own lingerie boutique. She’d often sketched her own designs, and is a super body confident person, believing lingerie is super empowering. She likes looking good, because she believes it makes you feel good. 

While she good with customers, and general managing; she was awful managing the books and so turned to one of her closest friends, Piper. 

As her Boutique grew in popularity, Sadie looked to expanding her business. Eventually, within the next five years, she’d built a brand for herself, opening up several other boutiques around the surrounding areas. She even has her own lingerie line based on her old designs, having impressed someone enough into manufacturing it. While she mostly managed the brand, Sadie would still travel to each of her boutiques, occasionally working the shop floor and making sure all her employees were happy.

Sadie and Brian have never seen eye to eye. She was often vocal about her dislike for the other, and after one drunken night that ended in hate sex; Sadie was determined to never see the other again. That was, until several weeks later when she realised she was pregnant. While Sadie had her fair share of flings and one night stands, the timing worked out so that it couldn’t possibly be anyone else but Brian.

After two weeks of going through every single option, Sadie decided to keep the baby. She went to Brian, telling him what had happened and that she was keeping the baby, and if he didn’t want to; he didn’t have to have a part in it. To her surprise, he did. 

The two decided to co-parent, knowing a relationship was never going to work out between them with the constant bickering. Sadie gave birth to her son, Micah, and they decided the child would get both their surnames. Sadie stayed in her apartment, her roommate having long gone and her spare room being her home office - except, how it had become a nursery and she’d rented an office elsewhere. 

Brian moved into Oak Ridge, making it easier for the two to share custody, knowing living together wouldn’t work. They take turns on a weekly basis to have Micah, but if they need a babysitter during their week, they usually go to the other first.

Their son is three now, and their custody arrangement hasn’t changed. It works for them, and Sadie is happy with it. The two still bicker, and she still hasn’t changed his name from ‘Baby Daddy’ in her phone; but Sadie can’t deny that he’s a good father to Micah.

She mostly manages her brand from Wakefield now, working in an office, traveling only when she has to, and on weeks she doesn’t have her son, wanting to spend as much time with him as possible; as her parents didn’t - despite how much she loves them and understands why, she’d wished she’d had more moments with them.

BACKGROUND

Lincoln and his twin sister, Lucy were born to the James family in Wakefield, where they were raised.

Growing up, Linc has always been a positive ball of energy. Alongside his twin, the two were always happy go lucky kids, always smiling and laughing.

The James twins had a fairly standard upbringing, they weren't well off, but had enough to live comfortably. He had loving parents, and while they had the odd disagreement, they were very much in love.

As a child, Lincoln was constantly hyperactive and impulsive, as well as easily distracted and he tended to struggle to focus. His parents had noticed for a while, and when he was eight, Lincoln was diagnosed with ADHD.

His diagnosis wasn’t the easiest thing, at first, Linc having to take medication, see a therapist and they had to change his lifestyle some what. It annoyed him at first, but he quickly decided to look on the brightside of things.

Linc’s positivity and endless energy could be tiring at times, and he knows that. It’s why he tends to stick to people that can keep up with him, not wanting anyone to bring him down with ‘negative vibes’ (it’s an excuse he uses so he can leave people if they look like they’re getting tired of him).

Came out as gay when he was fifteen, firstly to his twin.

Linc has had several relationships over the years, but they usually don’t make it past three months, with Linc usually being the one to call things off. 

Lincoln jumped from job to job after leaving high school, trying to keep himself busy but not wanting to go to college. 

As Linc got older, some of his ADHD symptoms went away, but he still has a noticeable amount. 

He eventually settled as a pilates instructor and working at the sugar shack, making his way up to candy maker from a cashier. He loves working at the Sugar Shack and ADORES his boss, Skye.
