Sanji turns away, avoiding his gaze: "Yeah."

Luffy furrows his brow: "Why aren't they here?"

Sanji smiles faintly and replies: "Well... They're somewhere else."

Luffy: "Why?"

A pause. Sanji looks at him, then glances away.

Sanji: "…Do you want to join them?"

Luffy falls silent. For a long time.

Then he murmurs, barely above a whisper: "...I'm okay here."

Even softer: "With you."

Sanji takes a deep breath, steadying the tremor in his lips. Somewhere in the distance, waves lap against a shore they’ll never have to sail again.
