Here’s to the witches...
The Satanist Witches. Who are constantly thrown under the bus by witches who don’t want to associate with you because they want people to know they’re not “evil”.
The Atheist/Secular Witches. Who have trouble finding spells suited to their beliefs because most other witches insist on calling on gods or goddesses.
The Abrahamic Witches. Who are constantly told their paths aren’t valid by people of their religion and witches alike.
The Trans/non-binary Witches. Who have a hard time finding representation in religion and the craft. Who are excluded from covens solely due to how they were born
To Non-Wiccan Witches. Who constantly need to remind people that witch is not synonymous with Wicca.
Y’all are wonderful. Keep being awesome witches!

My phone’s camera accidently started doing a vertical panorama. Decided to give it a go and got this really cool pic!
“Do you love the color of fire?”
Sometimes I forget everything is made from bits of stuff that the stars are made of, and this makes me feel warm inside.
Being a witch doesn’t mean you need to be like everyone else or completely original
Get this: I don’t have an altar. It wasn’t working out for me. I don’t worship deities. I’m not Wiccan or pagan but I celebrate the holidays. I do what works for me. You should have an altar, celebrate the holidays, leave offerings (but only if it works for you). That’s the key! Although I do strongly encourage any witches who don’t worship deities or don’t have altars to still learn about traditions. And respect everyone!

SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON 3: MOON PHASES
Sunday School Week 3
Moon Phases
The moon is a mystical and powerful object, it represents feminine energies, the goddess, it associated with water and is one of the most magical natural objects to associate with magic. The moon has been worshiped for centuries and has been used not only in magic but by astronomers and scientist the world over.
The moon phases affect certain aspects of life and therefore each phase is associated with particular workings during each phase. Also keep in mind as you explore the phases how each phases can have an effect on your life during a particular phase.
Also each moon has a particular name. Though the name may change there is usually a common root to the workings and observances of that particular month and moon. One fun thing, or at least I find it fun, is that by exploring the different titles given to the monthly moon, you not only see the root of that moons workings, but also gain more insight and observance on different parts of the moon that you may not find by looking it up under just one (usually most common name)
In a general calendar year there are 12 full moons, one for each month of the year. Some people will say there are 13, which at different times over the course of a 2 ¼ to 2.5 year span there can be a possible 13 or more. During this time there is what is called a Blue Moon, but more on those later. Each month the moon will cycle through four phases, each of the phases provides an energy that can help you in your workings, and life in general.
There is:
New Moon – For new beginnings, some people call this the Dark Moon also, while others claim the Dark Moon occurs at the day before the New Moon. This phase is ideal for starting new projects, for imitations. It is a time of hope and faith, and of fresh starts. Basically the New Moon is a great place to start.
Waxing Moon: For growth, this is the working period between the New and the Full moon. This is a time to build on what has been started, a time of growth and accomplishment. During the Waxing moon you want to work on furthering what you started at the New Moon and advancing yourself. This is a time to explore creativity, and study, to pursue the things that will help you along your way. It also represents the Maiden aspect of the Triple Goddess.
Full Moon: For Hearts desire, the most common phase and the most widely talked about and associated with witchcraft and the occult. The Full Moon is when the moon is at its greatest and strongest. This phase is all about fulfillment. Manifesting that which you seek, wishes can come true. This is also a time of strongest protection, so you may wish to create protective charms, this is also the phase most witches celebrate the Goddess in her Fullness, and is the symbol of the Mother aspect of the Triple Goddess. During the Full Moon reach for the impossible because you can achieve it.
Waning Moon: For banishing and removal. This is the phase of release and letting go, Removal and shedding. If there are certain things you want gone from your life, then now is the phase to work those desires.
Blue Moon: The second full moon in a calendar month, they occur every two and a quarter to two and a half years, (Roughly 2.7 years)generally they occur only in the months of January, March, May, July, August, September, October, December.
The Blue Moon is like a bonus moon, and are often thought to be exceptionally powerful and give you a second chance at the Full Moon energies.
Each full moon, has a name, I am going to list the most common in regards to Wicca and Witchcraft, but the other names, as there are many, can easily be found online or in books.
Jan: Wolf Moon July: Mead Moon
Feb: Storm Moon August: Wyrt Moon
March: Chaste Moon Sept: Harvest Moon
April: Seed Moon October: Blood Moon
May: Hare Moon Nov: Snow Moon
June: Lovers Moon Dec: Oak Moon
Void of Course: When the moon transitions from one sign to the next, it is called Void of Course. Some people will call the Void of Course Moon the Dark Moon. However some will say the Dark Moon is different. The Void Of Course can last from a few minutes to a few hours at most. Rarely have they occurred for longer (one report is for one lasting 48 hours.) during the VOC the moon has no power and it is not wise to attempt to work any type of magic or ritual working involving the moon during this time. A witches calendar or almanac will give you the exact times of the VOC.
When it comes to working with the phases of the moon, regardless of the phase you require you have a three day window, three days before and three days after the actual date of the moon. Remember, as you are going into the phase the energy is getting stronger, the actual day of the phase you are at the zenith of its power and the days following are the days in which the energies decrease as they transition into the next phase.
More will be covered on the actual Moons and their Esbat purposes in the Sabbats and Esbats Lesson.
