Two Bite Vegan Baked Potatoes
BANANA ICE CREAM. How do you make it?
Slice up your bananas.
Throw âem in the freezer until icy and cold.
Blend blend blend.
Add just a splash of milk.
Devour.
Cute n' Perfect Vegan Quiche
Ingredients:Â
10 oz extra firm silken tofu 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast 2 tablespoons plain almond milk 2 tablespoons cornstarch 1 yukon gold potato, sliced 1 cup mushrooms, sliced 1/4 cup sliced sweet onion 1 cup spinach 2 tablespoons cut green onions for garnish garlic powder, salt, and ground pepper to taste 2 small pinches of tumeric, for color 1 store-bought frozen vegan pie crust. (Because nobody actually has time for that, amiright?)Â
Instructions:Â
1) SautĂ© all veggies with olive oil. Put aside once sautĂ©ed.Â
2) Blend the silken tofu, almond milk, cornstarch, garlic powder, salt, ground pepper, and turmeric.Â
3) Pour mixture into mixing bowl.Â
4) Add sautĂ©ed veggies into the bowl, folding the veggies & mixture together.Â
5) Pour the entire mixture into your store-bought crust. Make sure everything is nice n flat, just so it looks nicer. :~) Â
6) Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes depending on your oven, be sure to check on it around the 40 minute mark.Â
7) Let the quiche cool for about 15 mins before slicing. I know this is difficult, but I truly wish I had waited. Learn from my mistakes.Â
Notes:Â
I didn't use spinach because I didn't have any, but I added it to the recipe because it'd be totally delicious. Also, sub kale for spinach if you're feelin' a lil wild. If you decide to take the wild ride, make sure to massage the kale in olive oil for a few minutes before sautĂ©ing. . .trust me.Â
Cauliflower Tots - This delicious side dish is picky kid approved and a great way to sneak some extra veggies into their diets!âŠRECIPE
You can be vegan all you want, good for you, but not being vegan doesn't make someone a bad person. Not everyone in the world will convert to being a vegan so maybe y'all should stop being angry people and just get over it.
Of course the whole world will never be vegan, but I strongly believe that someday a majority of the world will be vegan. In fact, the world will have to go mostly vegan or we are screwed, anon. Veganism is the future, out of necessity, and the UN agrees.
Animal agriculture is destroying our world.Â
40% of global marine catch is by-catch (basically we are throwing back enormous amounts of unusable species into the sea, dead and wasted)
An estimated 300,000 whales, dolphins and porpoises die in fishing nets every year.
Overgrazing is blamed for 35% of soil degradation, deforestation for 30%, and agriculture for 27%. These main causes are directly or indirectly related to the consumption of animal products.
Studies indicate that a varied vegan diet requires about a third of the land needed for conventional Western diets. We do not have enough land to feed everyone on an animal-based diet.
The livestock sector is a major player, responsible for 18% of greenhouse gas emissions measured in CO2 equivalent. This is a higher share than transport.
Animal product consumption is causing deforestation: there are undiscovered plants and other things in these areas that could help with medicine, not to mention that rain forests and other land contributes to 20% or so of the Earthâs oxygen.Â
60% of deforestation is related to animal agriculture
For every 4 lbs of retail fish caught, 1 lb of other fish dies.
It has been predicted that all the worldâs fisheries will collapse in 2048Â unless something is done to stop it.
It is estimated that over-fishing threatens the food security of about 200 million people.
The Lives of Slaughterhouse Workers:Â they are usually on shitty contracts, are usually poor and people of color (PoC), how they donât have basic working rights, and how often times they are undocumented, so they canât go for help.
Big, rich, Western, white countries go into other countries: usually (again) poor, underprivileged, native areas that are (again) usually inhabited by PoC. This takes land away from the people in that region or country and gives it to a) the livestock and/or b) the crops raised for that livestock.
Even in the west, people who live near slaughter farms have shitty water, shitty soil, shitty air, and they get really really sick.Â
Theyâre also more likely to be poverty stricken.

Antibiotic use in meat production has been linked to the rise in âsuper bugsâ, which are antibiotic-resistant bacteria, found in a lot of meats available in supermarkets. These maladies can kill people.
In 2004/5 there were 2270 injury claims made in the meat processing industry, most of which were due to falls, injuries with knives and âbody stressingâ.
People working in tanneries to make leather from the skin of animals that have been killed are exposed to numerous dangerous chemicals (chromium being the worst). The chemicals can cause cancer, skin diseases, respiratory illnesses while the machinery is also dangerous and can result in amputations. In India, people have died due to the exposure to these chemicals, due to unsafe working conditions. People have also died in Bangladesh and are affected by the chemicals in a multitude of ways. These chemicals can also leach into the water supply and affect the air and soil quality, which in turn causes illnesses and diseases in nearby populations.
No, not being vegan does not make someone a bad person⊠but if youâre aware of the slaughter youâre contributing to and youâre able to change that and choose not to, that is extremely problematic. Especially if you mourn the deaths of companion animals, but not the ones on your plate.Â
Thatâs it. I need to go vegan.
Super important post with lots of great links and resources. Give it a read! :)
Awesome post, please become enlightened!
Donât go vegan, your depriving yourself of the minerals you need. Yeah you can do alternatives but itâs never enough. Why donât we just treat animals and life like we used to? Eat the animal to survive, not to binge and waste. Just be kind to other life in general. I plan to substantial farm and maybe own a couple chickens
You are not depriving yourself of anything. You have no clue whatyouâre talking about, just like anon. It would be nice if you people would do research before you spoke, but you never do.Â

Eating Vegan Is Efficient, Both Costly & Environmentally (Alternatively: Why Meat ISNâT Efficient)
Here is a prison that went vegetarian solely because of it being cheaper.
Here is a prison in California where half the inmates were served vegan food. That half had remarkably lower incidences of violence and much better fellowship (which goes to show you that there is more to this issue than just dollars and cents).
You Could Feed Hundreds of People with What It Takes To Raise 200 Kilos of Boneless Beef
An acre of land can produce 40,000 pounds of potatoes, 50,000 pounds of tomatoes, but only 250 pounds of beef.
Environmental Impact of a Vegan vs. Conventional Diets (PDF file)
Meat subsidies strip other food industries to the bone
4 million people on this planet live on an almost exclusively vegan diet due to poverty.
If Britain went vegetarian, less than half the farm land would be needed; vegan, less than a quarter.
The less people eating meat, the cheaper produce gets for everyone.
Junk Food Costs More Than Healthy Foods
We currently produce enough food to feed the world, but feed it to animals we later kill instead.
Studies confirm increasing population must abandon meat by 2050.
(x)
Why is raising animals for food so inefficient?
70% of grain and cereals grown in U.S. are fed to farmed animals
it requires 16 pounds of grain to produce 1 pound of meat
What does eating meat have to do with people starving in other countries?
every ounce of water, grain and resources that goes towards an animal who will ultimately be slaughtered is an ounce of water or grain that could have gone to those who so desperately need it. a study published earlier this year in the journal Environmental Research Letters analyzed the worldâs agriculture resource data and found that humans cutting meat from their diets could play a significant role in combating world hunger. According to the researchers, 36 percent of the total calories that come from crops are allocated to farm animal feed, but only 12 percent of those calories actually make it to peopleâs dinner plates. The researchers concluded that if all of the worldâs crops were directly consumed by humans, there would be approximately 70 percent more food available, providing sustenance for an additional 4 billion additional people.
Check out this article, in which the UN is urging a global shift towards a vegan dietÂ
And last but not least⊠this post that says where you can get EVERYTHING while vegan.
