This tournament is meant not only to discern what's the most beloved queer vocaloid song, but also to share queer music to new people so we can all enjoy it to the fullest!
THE RULES
Do listen to all songs before voting! Unbiased opinions are fine, biased opinions are fine, but at least give all songs a chance!
Remember that once you vote, you can't un-vote! So choose wisely!

THE BRACKETS
Yes, you read that correctly! Since there are a grand total of 152+ songs in this tournament among over 360 submissions (that's a lot!), the bracket has been divided into FIVE SUB-BRACKETS of 32 songs each. They will be revealed one by one, after the first round of each is done, and the resulting five songs will face off to see who the winner is!

THE VOTING
Voting for the first bracket will begin on May 15th. Polls will be open for ONE WEEK, after which they will be closed, winners will be anounced, and voting for the next bracket will follow.
Voting for the third bracket will begin on June 23rd.
All polls are tagged with #tournament polls, and all polls will also be tagged with their respective bracket (e.g.: #side a poll).

Escape by any means possible is a fantasy, and even then, it's leaving people behind. Overall a heart-rending song that still gives me the chills."

"Honestly Harumaki Gohan's entire discography is so aggressively queer. Every song is some lesbian shit, so picking one is difficult. Mikage's diary is the beautifully animated ending to a series of songs that follow Mikage, a girl who has a difficult time with her emotions and showing them. She creates false selves to the point of not being able to differentiate what emotions are actually hers. She's in love with a classmate. They saw the fireflies together, something Mikage wanted ever since she found out the other girl (Spica) wanted to. She believes she is undeserving of Spica's 'light' because of her difficulties with emotions. Spica is the sun and Mikage is floating in the depths of the ocean. Mikage's Diary is reminiscent of the tale of the little mermaid. She tries to bring Spica down with her. Her love is ultimately unrequited and Mikage does not float up to the surface like Spica does. Mikage's feelings are sinking deeper within herself. She is the farthest she could ever be from the 'sun.' God she's so gay. All of his songs do this!! All of his songs rip you apart! He builds a story over multiple songs, and its all TRAGIC and GAY!"

There's an inner conflict between the Empress she "wants" to be and what she actually "is" but then she gains more confidence when she reflects on how nature is inherently beautiful because it exists, not because other people think it's beautiful. "Does a lotus flower bloom because it thinks it will be pretty?" Consider how even though she knows she is an "empress," she compares herself to a wrapper over candy--a thin shield, but it doesn't hide anything shameful but rather the sweet candy underneath. This marks a switch into embracing herself. Even if she wants to use the things that signify Empress status aka makeup, clothes, to cover her "ugly" soul she undertands that she is beautiful as she is and doesn't actually need these thigns to be an Empress. She has her "wrapper" on her terms do I make sense. It's commentary on how femininity is both a performance but also self expression. That's why the chorus cries out "Step away from your throne" she does not need a throne to be the Empress that she is!! She doesn't need the validation. "Even if it’s a lie, I’ve straightened my back, see?" SHe is more secure in herself by the end of the song and it no longer matters if being an Empress won't be seen as real enough to others, she has pride in herself and that won't change. I get really emotional about this. Insanely underrated. When you hear EMPRESS IN ME do you not feel the power of the EMPRESS IN ME?!?!?!"
