Ā Character Posters: Hans (Chameleon Moon)
Queership readers,
For the past year, weāve loved bringing you queer science fiction & fantasy content from around the globe, talking with authors and other publishing professionals, curating lists, and working behind the scenes to stay abreast of upcoming releases, bandy ideas in our Slack group, and work to build our little community. Itās been a treasure, an honor, and a joy to enter your inboxes, hang out in your bookmarks, and interact with you on social media.
Unfortunately, 2017 was a year of change and upheaval for most of our staff, and weāve collectively made the decision to close our doors at the end of this month. However, as we close down, another site rises in our place: Queer Books for Teens is a site created and curated by librarians, which covers all genres. There's also Dahlia Adler's incomparable LGBTQ Reads.
Thank you so much for supporting us in this venture. Weāre grateful for the time we were able to spend with all of you.
From all of us here at Queership, we wish you the very best 2018.

top ten books i read in 2017
At The Edge Of The Universe by Shaun David Hutchinson
āI didnāt even need to check my phone to know that the universe had shrunk again, and the stars had vanished⦠No. They hadnāt vanished. Iād given them away to someone who hadnāt deserved them, and Iād never get them back.ā
She ate the stars and swallowed the earth. She is the girl with all the power.
āWitchsong #5, Book of Cantos
Do you know of any fantasy books featuring a m|m relationship where itās not the main point of the book? Something maybe similar to the shadow hunters? Thanks!!
Try RUNEBINDER by Alex Kahler, or if you want books that have an ensemble with m/m pairings in them, check out SIX OF CROWS by Leigh Bardugo and THE GIRL AT MIDNIGHT by Melissa Grey.

Any cute transboy/f YA ?
WHEN THE MOON WAS OURS by Anna-Marie McLemore is more stunningly beautiful than cute, but I still have to mention it! NOT YOUR VILLAIN by CB Lee is probably the cutest, though itās not A Romance, just FYI. I think JAYA AND RASA by Sonia Patel is a very intense one, but there arenāt a ton of transboy/cis f YAs, so I figure itās worth a mention too. Thereās also an *extremely* cute YA coming up thatās a cis f/genderqueer (he/him) romance that I definitely have to rec called THE BRIGHTSIDERS by Jen Wilde.
Do you have any recs for fantasy book featuring a f/f relationship similar to mistborn? If u dont know that book i basically mean a fantasy book with more action in it than something like of fire and stars
I havenāt read MISTBORN but based on that I definitely rec OTHERBOUND by Corinne Duyvis, LABYRINTH LOST by Zoraida Cordova, THE SEAFARERāS KISS by Julia Ember, and THE CURSED QUEEN by Sarah Fine!
do you have any recommendations for a wlw story set in a magical world? with queens? Sorry if you've answered this before, I couldn't find anything!
No worries! The Cursed Queen by Sarah Fine is a great one, though it works better if you read the m/f (but still bi) The Impostor Queen first. I also love love love Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melissa Bashardoust. And for some reason I cannot remember if thereās magic in Of Fire and Stars by Audrey Coulthurst? But read it anyway ;)
Any m/m YA where one is a human and the other is a non human. Could be anything, I'm not picky <3 maybe a bit of fluff?
If you have not already read Timekeeper by Tara Sim, you are gonna loooooooooooooooove it. And Seven Tears at High Tide by CB Lee, too!
books read in 2018: every heart a doorway, by seanan mcguire.

books I read in 2018 ā the gentlemanĀ“s guide to vice and virtue by mackenzi lee
āĀ āIt is remarkable how much courage it takes to kiss someone, even when you are almost certain that person would very much like to be kissed by you. Doubt will knock you from the sky every time.ā
READ IN 2018 - chainbreaker (tara sim)
Blood spread. The Tower trembled. Bells rang. Time shivered. The world descended into chaos and the impulse and the slowing of the second handātick.
A tremor in the air as time began to unravel.
Tock.
