☾✨ intro to anxiety !!

Well, past that I’d hope she’ll go off and have her own adventures without her boring old dad.

And she totally will. Don’t even try to guess what I’m getting her for her 18th birthday.

“ but lately, all i see are snowflakes. “ she told the other. “ and the cold is ridiculous. i remember being sick twice a week last month. it is definitely … horrible. “

her eyebrows raise in agreement as she shakes her head, “i know. the weather just can’t make it’s mind up this time of year.”

“ we’ll see about that ! “ alexandra chuckled along with her. “ … that just reminds me that i should just go out there and get a tan this weekend. anyway, did you have fun not witnessing the cold for a little while ? “

she nods, “oh definitely, the weather here varies too much, it was just nice to be in the sun and consistent warm weather.”

Well, it sounds pretty glamorous to me, I gotta admit. That I do; she’s my priority right now. And, well – for like, the next eighteen years.

And long after that, but at least when she’s old enough to enjoy it I can take both of you to nice places.

“ That’s such a typical val thing to do you know?” he laughed. “ Trying to stay out of trouble and shit..”

“And that sounds typically like you. I would hope that your best efforts mean you haven’t gotten in trouble yet?”

It’d been a while since he’d seen Val and he’d be a liar if he said he wasn’t curious as to what she was doing theses days. “Look who’s back from the dead, slummin’ it with me.” He shrugged, putting his phone back into his pocket and leaning against the brick wall of the building he worked at. “So, you said it. Mission accomplished.” The words came out a little bitter and honestly, he usually wouldn’t even flinch because of his sharp sounding words but he did feel a little bad for dismissing her like that… I mean, they were friends at some point, right? Obviously those were different times. She was different but he wasn’t a robot, he was human. Shaking his head he pushed himself up and off the wall before pointing down at her shoes. “Um, you’re probably gonna slip and break something in those, you know.” Alright, he could’ve thought of something better to say like sorry for coming off so rude or how’ve you been? but it was Tristan. 

“ You know I’m actually starting to miss that face around here. You know I’m just going to find out that reason eventually from one of your friends.”

“Don’t get soft on me now, Theo. I was in St. Bart’s, not a convent! And not even my friends know, you won’t get a peep outta’ me!”

“It’s nice to see you back that’s what matters so what did you book a movie tv or Broadway?”

“I can’t say much, but I can say that Broadway and I are taking a break for awhile.”

“If you’re alluding to it, you’re just begging to be asked. You’ll spill at the first pry.”

“Oh please. I know better than to crack just like that, it’ll take at least a couple shots.”

“ I swear both of could hold the record of disappearing. It looks like the vacation did you, good for personal and the job.”

“just call me houdini because i’m always pulling tricks !!” she shrugged, “more personal than professional.”

“ but somehow you keep coming back into the city no matter what but it sounds like you had the most amazing time ever. You can’t even tell me val?“

“well as they say, there’s no place like home, right ? and as much as i love a good beach and a hot waiter, it was about time.” she shakes her head, “all you’ll get is a drunken hint and that’s it.”
