Meeting with the Sheriff || SB

David didn’t like it when anyone suggested they talk to Gold, nothing good ever came of it. He wasn’t blameless, but that didn’t mean he had to like it. “You’re probably right,” he had to relent, though. He didn’t have to warn her to be careful. She was her own woman; it wasn’t his place.

“I’m sure you can talk to Mary Margaret, she might have some blindingly optimistic plan to fix this entire situation. I would advise not listening to her suggestions.” She didn’t think much of Mary Margaret’s perception of the world.

“That I can do,” she said, nodding her head. That was something she was used to. That was the one thing she could depend on; it’d never let her down before.

Regina nodded, satisfied with that answer. “Perhaps you can teach some of the others a bit about combat in this world just in case.”

“I’m a fast learner, Regina, but if you’re thinking about teaching me more magic, I don’t think we have all that time.” She wasn’t opposed to learning more. She was sure she probably did need to learn more, but she was sure she couldn’t lean that fast.

She nods. “I was hoping to teach you more, but I don’t think you learn fast enough for it to make a difference.” She shook her head. “No, you’re going to have to rely on whatever hand-to-hand combat you know.”

“I’ll look out for him. I’ll also spread the word,” he told her. He’d do it discretely; he didn’t need to spread a panic. The people of Storybrook are used to a panic, but if they could keep everyone calm, that is best. “Maybe you should talk to Emma about Henry staying with you for a while. I’m sure she’d agree.” Actually, he probably wasn’t, but Regina did know her magic better than Emma did. 

She nods, she agreed that Henry should stay with her until things were safer. “Yes, I’ll do that. And I’ll see what I can find out about the other newcomers. I might be able to find something out. If anyone would know something it would probably be Gold. He knows the most about magic and the nature of magic.”

David turned his head, regarding the woman in front of him closely. He wasn’t used to this side of Regina. She was only looking to help herself, but this wasn’t the selfish person he was used to seeing in front of him. “I agree. There’s no telling what these people are capable of. I haven’t met many of them yet, but there is a very likely chance that they’re not all good.”

“I’ve met a few of them, the only one I really don’t like is called Jafar. I’m not sure how much power he has access to, but he is a sorcerer. A dark sorcerer. We need to be careful with him.”

Emma laughed shortly, almost scoffing at the idea of an elaborate plan, as though Regina truly thought that she always did have an elaborate plan at the drop of a hat. The truth was that things usually just happened to turn out the way she wanted it to. “Trust me, Regina, you now far more about opening portals than I ever will.” She wasn’t sure about that, but Regina had more experience with them, that was the truth.

Regina shook her head, sighing. “If you cared to really learn about magic, there’s a lot I could teach you. But for now, I can handle almost anything that we might come up against.” She figured that Emma usually tried to take charge, it was a surprise that she didn’t have some plan for this encounter. “Are you sure you don’t want to make some other plan?”

“I agree,” Emma said. She didn’t usually like Regina approaching her a lot of the time, but when it was about Henry, she really had to think about what Regina had to say. She and Henry were both in Henry’s life now, but Regina had been here his whole life. She knew more than either o them did and they needed to learn. “I think we should get to know them and figure out how to get them back to where they’re from.” Figuring why they were there was probably imporant, but it wouldn’t be necessary if they could just get them back from where they came.

“Getting them back won’t be easy. Opening portals to other realms is incredibly difficult, it’s not just a spell. You need very specific, very powerful magic to accomplish that.” She crossed her arms, giving Emma a chance to speak. “Unless you had some elaborate plan to open a portal?”

Jafar narrowed his eyes in on her. “are you telling me that your powers don’t work here?” he countered her. “I can feel the magic in this place, feel the magic in you. So, if you’re trying to push me out of your territory, it’s not going to work. Unless you’d like to help my companion and me leave, I don’t want anything to do with you.”

She was really hoping that he wasn’t going to press his luck. “And who would your companion be? From what I can tell you seem to be alone.” She crossed her arms. She couldn’t really judge the level of the man’s power without seeing some kind of demonstration, but she didn’t want to start a magical duel in the middle of town.

He crossed his arms over his chest and leaned against the wall across the way from the desk she was sitting against. “David is fine,” he told her, shaking his head. “What do we need to talk about?”

“David then. We need to talk about the new arrivals. The new curse. You’re the sheriff, so we need to talk about a plan to keep the town safe.” Regina was mainly concerned about Henry, but she didn’t really see a need to let the other citizens of the town get hurt.

Who are you even? || SB

“Pardon me?” Jasmine’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion at the woman’s words. “Who is Snow White? And what’s a City Hall?” She asked, very lost. “I’m sorry, this is all still very new to me. Forgive my lack of manners. I’m Jasmine of Agrabah.”

Regina smiled somewhat meanly. “She’s a princess just like you, and city hall is the big building that way.” She pointed down the road. “You’re not in Agrabah anymore, Jasmine. So it would be good for you to learn about Storybrooke.”
