Way back in the day, I posted the Kickstarter for the book Beyond the Mirror Image. Now I have to post another, sadder, fundraising page.
Matt Dale (who wrote Beyond the Mirror Image, and has said he's taken some things from this blog for his book as well- went both ways there) recently passed away and his brother-in-law is now raising some money for funeral expenses.

That's a good question. Given that Deborah Pratt hinted in her AMA about the evil leapers being used again, I think it has something to do with that. Or with Leaper X/Martinez.

#13: Ben leaping into a Japanese-American astronaut who nearly perishes in a space shuttle disaster is intended to evoke the memory of Ellison Onizuka, who was on the Challenger space shuttle.
#12: The shuttle Addison is talking about here is the Columbia. This disaster happened in February 2003.
Less than a minute after the shuttle launched, a piece of foam broke off of the external tank attached to the shuttle and hit some panels on Columbia's left wing. The damage wasn't noticed until the second day of the mission, and all members of the crew perished upon re-entry.
#11: According to NASA, space shuttle crews typically have between five and seven people. In Atlantis, just four people were shown for the crew.

#10: Space Shuttle Atlantis had no missions at all in 1998.
What was going on with the space program in March 1998? At that time, NASA was collaborating with the Russian space program. Russian cosmonauts and American astronauts would fly on the American space shuttle up to the Russian space station Mir. In January 1998, an American astronaut was flown up to Mir and returned that June.
So it's weird that Reynolds would complain about working with the Russians, especially since the Americans had already been working with them for over twenty years at that point.

But the Hope Diamond was actually stolen at least once in its history, when it left the possession of Louis XIV in 1792 and didn't show up again for another twenty years, possibly passing into the possession of George IV of the United Kingdom.
