Whew! We made it to the weekend! 🙌🏽 And, we made it through the heatwave! Now, we have a wonderful weather weekend on tap. I, for one, am here for it! Let’s get some high sunshine and low humidity around here. 😀
I ended my workout week with a two-fer! I started with some functional strength training. I have added more moves, increased weight on some moves, and increased reps on others! I’m really learning into progress, here.
Then, I finished the week with cardio kickboxing using my sparring gloves (pictured above). I did 3 kicking and punching combos on each side with a high intensity interval in between. This was a lot of fun and I ended up going longer than expected. 😂
Total calorie burn = 441 kcals 💥
That is 5 for ✋🏽! Bring on the weekend! ✊🏽

Thursday:
Happy Thursday! It was so HUMID outside today. 😩 And, stormy at times. I found myself staying indoors as much as possible. Which was fine, since I have so much to do for my class. So, I made the most of it. And, I made time for a workout out or two!
Today, I expanded my usual functional strength workout to include a couple more moves/sets. I am definitely feeling stronger lately! 💪🏽 It encourages me to keep going for additional progress. I alternated between upper and lower body focused moves; with some compound moves incorporating both.
Then, I jumped right into a HIIT workout! That went a bit longer than I planned because I lost track of time. 😂 My endurance and cardio capacity has also seen some recent increases. It’s almost the end of the week and I’m not nearly as sore as I was just a few weeks ago! That alone feels like a big win! 🙌🏽
Total calorie burn = 420 kcals 🥳
I only have one more training day left in my schedule before the weekend! ✊🏽

Wednesday:
Happy Hump Day! It was another hot one. Not as bad as last week, but hot nonetheless. Also, I’m back to taking classes to earn my CECs to renew my professional certifications for personal training and group fitness! The class I’m currently taking is Strength Training for Weight Loss. I gotta say, it’s right up my alley! I love developing programs to help people reach their goals. Even though I’ve already learned a lot of this stuff, it is good to stay up to date with the latest techniques!
Speaking of strength training, I took a midweek break from the weights today and did an all cardio session. I went with a 45 minute cardio Kickboxing workout I’ve been developing. It is challenging! But, a lot of fun. ☺️ The time really does flies by, if I can say so myself. And, I ain’t mad at that all cardio calorie burn! 😮💨

Tomorrow, it’s back to strength training and maybe a little HIIT…🤔
