Thursday:
Today was a gorgeous day weather-wise! The temps were in the low 70’s, breezy and low humidity. ☺️ I had my pre-workout drink out on our deck this morning and I spent time in the backyard playing with our dog in the afternoon. I try to savor the comfortable weather when I can!
It was a scheduled strength training day for my workout session. I’m really glad the muscle soreness is improving! Maybe it’s progression or improved recovery, but I notice a major difference from last week. Some days, I feel like I’m still trying to discover the right balanced approach to weight training in my 50’s!
Then, I moved right into a cardio kickboxing workout using pro gloves. I designed these combos to be a lot of fun but challenging! That is always the best combination for motivating people to push further. It worked here too! I did 3 long kicking and punching combos that totally kicked my butt. 😣
Total calorie burn = 413 kcals 😍
That is 4 out of 5! 👊🏽 Tomorrow wraps up the workout week. Next week gets off schedule again for yet another trip.

Wednesday:
It’s my mid-week cardio day! ☺️ And, my muscles were certainly grateful for the day off from strength training. I went into my cardio workout a bit on the sore side, but it felt mostly normal; instead of overall exhaustion like before. So, I decided to ease into a step workout on single risers and keep things mostly low impact.
Low impact is NOT necessarily low intensity! 😯 And this step routine was on the high intensity side at times. But, the program structure was fairly linear. So, I modified when I had to! Even with all that, I was able to get in a solid steady state cardio workout and hit my calorie goal in under an hour! 😅
Total calorie burn = 368 kcal 🎉
Now, I’m over the hump for the week! And, I’m exactly one week out from our next vacation. 🥰
