The past few days, a tsourmo of turned-around lads fans have been taking over the fandom. If you see accounts who:
Hate on normal global fans
Hate on normal CN fans
Hate on the Love Interests
Hate on Valko | Ao Yin
Attack players who support the return of Valko
Attack players normal posts that have to do with a LI or the game and not with the current situation or the 6th lis return
Think that the current global boycott is only because of the 6th LI's removal, and not also because of 2 years worth of piled complaints.
Hate on players who don't want the game gone and calling them bootlickers
Call black players โmuttsโ and chinese players โratsโ
Call CN or global players racial and ethnic slurs
Chinese bots/VPN accounts, also many from the global side, who shittalk heavily โ and I mean heavily (tw: rฮฑpe threats, death threats, bloodline humiliation, classism and racism โ avoid interaction, many screenshots are taken out of context and posted to platforms as evidence to say the global community as a whole is sinophobic to take down the global servers.)
And for me personally those who have no sense of diplomatic sensitivity โ
Block, mute, don't interact. The fandom is getting divided and some people do it on purpose.
I'm sorry but how come Rafayel became the centre of attention again in this situation? They're calling him the actual twink, the gay one, and basically a girl while defending Valko's masculinity. What type of message are you trying to send here? You're no better than the ones saying Valko is queer because he's too masculine. Please be for real and stop obsessing so much over LGBTQ+ and how they should look according to the picture on your head. You're preaching the very same homophobic stereotypes and you expect me to support your statement?
disappointed is an understatement for the fact that a vocal minority of parasocial liars essentially throwing a week long tantrum is whatโs finally stuck.
im extra disappointed from a game standpoint because i know there was going to be a lot of lore added and explained with his introduction bc of his position that weโre now missing out on, and the potential delays in already long awaited updates that re-workshopping this change will cause.
also just genuinely surprised because at the very least, from a business standpoint, all the sunken cost for him alone feels like it shouldโve been the last resort for them to do this and not the first solution, since theyโll never make any money back on him now.
last but most important, not only are the players impacted here, but this widespread tantrum and attempt to strong arm a company over a game is having real life impacts on the writing team that was hired for Valko, all the voice actors and cosplayers and motion capture actors for him, and an entire design and animation team Iโm sure. so yay, you nuked the real world just to get your fake world to be exactly as you want it โฆ

From now on, I'm writing for Valko as my WIP OC. I know many of us fell in love with the potential and the tropes. You will only be seeing love from me. If you don't like him, then, just block.
It has come to my attention that many people dislike the new released 6th love interest Valko | Ao Yin of the otome game, Love and Deepspace, for various reasons. Many of them being for the neglection of the main story, the dysfunctionality of the combat features and award system, much of Caleb | Xia Yizhou's and Sylus | Qin Che's missing basic content, and misuse of the player's spending.
Many other complaints come from aesthetic means, such as many players reporting that his design doesn't fit with the game and the rest of the love interests, and even (low-key) homophobic and racist rhetorics about his appearance.
Navigating through Twitter platform and even here on Tumblr, I want to warn you about these accounts.
There is a rumour going around that these users are planted by Infold/Papergames themselves, in order to stir up discussions (like controversies.) I was not going to bring any attention to this, because there are also many players echoing these sentiments, but I couldn't help and notice that many, and I mean many, of these toxic accounts have just been recently emerged, with the numbers of followers being 0 to 20 max. According to our sister fandom in China, that is a pretty common tactic many businesses/industries make in order to boost their (or the product's) visibility.
Right now I'm seeing so much name calling, racism, homophobia and misogynism, I don't even want to be affiliated in the fandom anymore. (Which however, I admit I like Rafayel too much for that.)
Do not engage with those accounts. Mute and Block, and if it's beyond offensive, report. Whether they are burner or hidden alt accounts, they solely exist to stir controversy and discourse in the fandom. I advice again to not engage and focus on your goals about the current situation: either by choosing to boycott, focus on your love interest, file surveys and customer feedback.
Share this as much as you can, I hate to see a space that I genuinely adored turning to a point like this.

heyyy i was so excited tbh, but the more the days passed the less hyped i became. i'll have to read his story before making any rush decision. plus the way they handled things... i got so pissed i deleted my valko posts lmao xD took me a minute to chill down, the baby wolf is innocent. </3 but yeah as of now i'm just waiting for updates and context to judge the situation.

hello everyone, i'm deeply sorry for the sudden announcement. unfortunately i'm unable to write for quite a while now. i have been pushing through, trying my best to just run ideas and find motivation, but it always falls flat: either by something going wrong or by a looming dread.
i'm grieving still and i don't think writing is good for me now. sitting down, opening ellipsus and trying to find something to write has become a chore. i'm unsure for how long that will remain.
until then, i'm announcing a semi-hiatus from writing. i'm just... going to be, i guess.
