You know what? I feel compelled to add on to my last post. This was a HORRIBLE move for the writing.
For those who don't know, each of the LIs have been mapped to one of the six realms of samsara - as the story has gone one, that's become more and more obvious. Xavier represents the realm of humanity, Zayne represents the realm of demigods, Rafayel represents the realm of the gods, Sylus represents the realm of the underworld, and Caleb represents the realm of ghosts/the undead. Valko was supposed to represent the realm of the animals.
The point of this was that they all tied to MC in some way, the current theory being that she is all of creation,and all of the boys represent a facet of the world. It is sooooo obvious that a 6th LI was always planned - there were always six stellactrum and it was apparent that each color mapped to one of the boys.
So! Canceling Valko actively erases much of the symbolism in the story. If they stop "all further development" as they stated they would, I wouldn't be surprised if the quality of the writing goes DOWN. Sylus and Caleb's stories would probably be strongly impacted, since the "dark trio" would never be complete. They write and develop story elements 1-2 years in advance, so this pivot would derail so much. I genuinely can't believe they made this decision, it's incredibly stupid from a business perspective and means they're sacrificing the majority of the fandom for a very loud minority.
I'm pissed because this will affect the entire damn game. It's not just Valko, it's the rest of the storyline from now on. It's the storylines of the other LIs, since this game tends to casually insinuate things about the other boys even in the chapters that aren't focused on them. Valko's story probably would have revealed a bit about EVER - which connects to all of the boys - and now that's lost to us.
I never get this livid when it comes to fiction, but this was such an incredibly stupid and impulsive response from the devs. I've seen some games collapse due to devs and marketing teams that lack the courage to stick to their story, and I'm getting war flashbacks (/lh) with LADS right now.
Word is out that Infold will now use Rafayel's fourth myth as damage control for cancelling Valko. The official "apology" letter confirms it, but rumours say that the myth date might be pushed closer. As a Rafayel main since day one, here's my stance.
I will not be pulling for Rafayel's fourth myth unless and until Infold reinstates Valko back as a love interest as they promised in their livestream.
This is not a decision I took in anger or grief or even because I suddenly like Valko and don't like Rafayel. That's not true. It hurt like hell when I uninstalled lads without even telling my beloved fishie that I will always love him and that this goodbye was only temporary, but it hurt even more when I logged in to collect my aurum pass diamonds alone. There was no way I could still keep playing this game, even login for getting back my own money, when I knew that that's exactly what Infold is banking on.
And with Rafayel's fourth myth being scheduled next, Infold is once again banking on my emotional bond with Rafayel. And it's exactly the reason why I'll never touch love and deepspace, even for Rafayel's myths, until Valko returns.
Cancelling Valko is more than scrapping off a love interest. It's an action that's akin to spitting on all the years of development that went into him. It's the destruction of an entire tapestry of a rainbow just because some people didn't like teal colour. It's the biggest insult to any self respecting individual that creates. And Rafayel embodies the spirit of a true creative soul, and I know he would be against it.
I do not fault anyone that still plays or plans to pull for Rafayel's myths, but after how Infold treated Valko , I no longer trust the game and its team. One day, the same rabid people would start another rumour to get Rafayel or another love interest scrapped off, and then what? If Infold's only course of action to this entire fiasco is straight up cancelling their love interest, then I don't want to be a part of that game anymore.
Perhaps one day (and I really, with every fiber of my heart pray that it's very soon) I will meet Rafayel again when infold reinstated Valko, issues a proper apology to all of its players, and promises to actually fix their shit and act on it instead of just delivering empty words.
i second this. Even rafayel himself wouldn't pull if he was in our place because he himself is an artist and knows how much of effort it takes to create a masterpiece. They always use rafayel as a cash cow and cash grab because he's the most popular in mainland. We shouldn't pull and let infold fix this mess themselves. Also, myth can always rerun next year so see you next year fishie!

so what im hearing from all of this is that infold is under fire by the government and removing valko was a decision they didn't want to make but had to because of CN side pressure and government too. And they're going to bring him back after relocating to HK, and we should log in instead of mass deleting the game which could end up in EOS for global servers. And valko will allegedly be released again in october.
edit: so a lot of people are saying they won't go EOS just because we uninstall and don't log in for a week, so keep the boycott continuing.

Like i get it, it's just a game. I have way more important things to worry about in life, but it hurts you know? The trust is gone. The fun has been robbed. I'm just thinking of all the time and money I spent since day one that I will never get back, but also don't regret. I'm not surprised, but it still hurts. Maybe they can fix things, I'll be giving them until the 9th. But they'd really have to pull all the stops to regain my trust. And if they don't, it was fun while it lasted.
doesn't this whole situation just further proves how no love interest is safe if they randomly decide one day to not like him? also valko was going to be rafayel's counterpart and the main story won't even make sense anymore since they are completely removing him. why the fuck infold even thought this was a sensible thing to do, don't they have some backbone to protect the LIs? can you imagine how many people must've lost their jobs and the effort and creativeness that they put in is just going to waste now because some people decided that valko doesn't fit in? is there even a point in playing this game anymore if the main story itself is going to be rushed, altered and have lots of plotholes that won't make any sense???
guys what the fuck. Y'all really made infold delete a completely new LI just because y'all didn't like how he looked or he didn't cater to your tastes. I don't even feel like continuing on this account anymore. I was genuinely excited for valko and his release. This fandom is the most toxic community I've ever seen and im gonna delete the game if they don't plan on bringing back valko.

okay i know this is a rafayel account but the hate valko is getting is RIDICULOUS. and especially caleb mains hating him when the same thing happened during his release is so ironic. I get it, gege's main story needs an update and his and sylus's content is lacking behind, but if anything release that frustration on infold instead of the new 6th LI. And saying things like "b-but he wasn't even mentioned in the main story!!" or "he wasn't even mentioned in the game anywhere!” and claiming that infold is plagirizing him because of silent whispers doesn't make any sense to me because valko has been mentioned and hinted in the world underneath anecdotes, and it just shows how much people don't read anything in this game 😭 so my final say is, the people who are happy for our wolf boy valko, don't feel discouraged to share your excitement just because he's getting so much hate, or if you're new to the fandom don't take it seriously because I'm like 99% sure people are gonna switch once they get to know him more and see his cards and companion. Other than that, if you don't like valko then it's fine. No need to comment on his looks, just ignore it. I'm seeing so many people upset because of how much hate he's been getting and it's honestly so sad. This is all because of infold's chaotic and messy schedule's consequences ofc, but direct the frustration at them, not the new LI.

“you bumped into her dumbass, apologize.” rafayel narrows his eyes at the man, they glow blue, pupils turning into slits for a split second. it’s enough to cause the man to practically beg for forgiveness, running the other way when rafayel tells him to get lost.
“raf…” your voice is soft but has the slightest edge to it. rafayel gives you a sheepish smile, then immediately pouts at you with gleaming eyes.
“cuutieeee cmon! he was a dick to you!” he frowns, practically hanging off your arm as the two of you continue to walk to the burger joint you’d planned on trying.
“he said excuse me,” you retort, fighting a smile off your face. rafayel sees the slightest twitch of your lips, he immediately stands a little straighter, placing a sloppy kiss to your cheek.

your face flushed at the term of endearment, simply squeezing his hand slightly.
