Just Make It A Good One, Eh?

...huh. Forgot I had this blog still. Maybe I should start using it again since X is shitting the bed.

Inspired by the final closing credits song of the show Angel Beats, "Ichiban no Takaramono" (which translates literally to "My Precious Treasure"), I drew four characters close to my heart: Miki Sayaka from Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Miyazono Kaori from Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, Isla from Plastic Memories, and Tachibana Kanade from Angel Beats.

While the Judgments and the Institute may not be in official League lore any more, this prompt immediately made me think of "The Measured Tread," a Demacian codex named in Lux's League Judgment from her oldest lore.

Ended up thinking of Pyrrha Nikos, but also kind of felt like doing a video game crossover, thus Hornet from Hollow Knight.

Originally I had planned to do something based on the Tumblr meme about the tiny dragon that always goes with its coin, but ended up listening to so much Ace Attorney music that I got the Defiant Dragons idea stuck in my head.

One of the three scenes that really gets to me in Rise of the Guardians..."What goes together better than cold...and dark?"

(Yes, I know a true mandala is much more involved and structured. I use the term in the most general, geometric sense of the word.)

Do I even have to?

Not an Inktober piece, just was listening to Reminiscence ~ A Sad Memory from Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies, and suddenly had a thought of "what if Athena Cykes' saddest moment was a Persona awakening in the spirit of Persona 5?"

I ended up doing a crossover design. Originally I started thinking about League of Legends (with a player's "build" on a champion), but then randomly also thought of Bismuth from Steven Universe, a Gem with a crafting and construction role. Eventually this melded with the blacksmithing champion Ornn in League, so I drew a Bismuth Ornn skin concept.

I wanted to do another gaming one, so I went with Undertale, where you have to freeze in place to avoid damage from light blue attacks (in this case, the rays from Mettaton's disco ball.)

Since I don't like drawing impaled worms, I'm going with a reference to baiting an enemy in League of Legends by placing a squishy character very obviously out of position so that your team can ambush anyone who tries to take advantage.

Here ya are, folks, a jellyfish is my unconventional take on today's prompt. Jellyfish are known for not having brains, and almost don't even count as having a central nervous system. Enjoy!

Decided to go with a different meaning than most people's first word association...the common "posy" used in plague doctor masks during the Black Plague period involved carnations, roses, and mint. “Ring around the rosies, a pocket full of posies. Atishoo, atishoo, we all fall dead.” 

Was on a work trip this week and didn't have access to my tablet, but did these quick low-qualify Undertale/Ace Attorney crossover sketches with pen and paper.
