also it's very interesting to see fluidity in your writing style, since you talk about using more imagery in your fantasy writing. like now that I really think about it, you often draw parallels to the characters' past, using their experiences to set the tone for the present - that's actually a really anime way of doing it (think hell's paradise, Tokyo ghoul, even blue eye samurai). with more sensory imagery and descriptive passages though, the flow changes drastically (Jjk is a popular example, with the delirium theme narrations explaining everything, but literally even the sonic movie does it).

it's a style that stems from novels, and some of the best use I see of it is in Dan Brown's work, but it's definitely not the only way to do it, and I'd love to see what your writing looks like in a different genre, with even more creative freedom

thats really fascinating to hear considering i only started reading novels in 2025! i mostly consumed anime and manga in my life which is why i probably tend to follow anime-style narrations and themes. thats something i will consider

okay so my writing keeps changing but i can show a little old scene i did from my samurai draft

first off, I've just binged your entire masterlist (except the kamisama kiss piece) and I've gotta say you're really good at conveying Big Emotion through tiny everyday interactions (esp with smau)

your read on bakugo is absolutely perfect he's sooooooo omgggg I left mha midway through s5 but I still remember what the characters were like

also pls don't feel scouted lol I'm not some big shot. i write fantasy mostly, but some of my earliest work was in sci-fi (some days I think I only switched genres bc I'm an absolute nerd and thus cannot pitch sci-fi plots. I end up going into sososo much detail Parisian sewer style)

rf kuang is amazing and you have awesome taste

also I don't mind canon!sae being a bit different, i sorta expect it going in since it's a sports anime

it's a little sad to hear your draft is abandoned tho... my suggestion would honestly be to take the characters (or certain parts of the worldbuilding that you were super into) and keep rotating them in your mind, asking silly questions and putting them in random situations. often new stories come from abandoned wips, and sometimes you end up getting the energy to return to the original piece.

I'm gonna go watch the anime, and I eagerly await the royal!au, but I'm simultaneously tempted to piggyback off of childhood best friend, just as tribute hehe

wow what kind of fantasy? i tend to enjoy military and academia fantasy with magic systems more. i have two drafts that are marinating actually! one of them is YA academia where the belief that divinity exists manifests magic itself. its meant to be a commentary of all organised religion and especially abrahamic religions that suggests that power is not gifted but taken by force! its to directly oppose the idea of a "one true belief"

my other draft is the one im more inclined to work on and its inspired by blue eyed samurai, atla, kny, and the sword of kaigen! its basically a war story of a family of the water clan in a fantasy country of japan, who are attacked by industrialized powers allied with the capital (fire clan)

sci fi stories are so cool and it takes so much creativity to devise and make, that is so impressive to hear omg

i have so many questions waw... what genre do you write for? i actually do read books but i never ever finished a romance book before lol because i find the romance a little wish washy. before i started writing fanfics on this account, i was busy writing my fantasy novel which is now!... abandoned. some of my favourite books are babel by rf kuang and the sword of kaigen by ml wang. this one was when i was a little younger but i also love the poppy war by rfff. im currently reading vicious by ve shawb! im mostly aware about fantasy but really really curious what you write!

also, im ngl blue lock and the fanfics are like a completely different experience LMAOOO i feel like sae is such a mysterious character and i was really just milking the shit out of his scenes while i was writing for him. one of the certain styles i got used to for fanfic writing is that i started using way less imagery than i would for a novel, and instead used more examples rather than explaining yk? and while i have a friend that does beta read i do notttt have an editor for writing lol
