Here’s a peek at what the first chapter of my next fic might look like, exploring the dynamics of the BLU team as we see them in This is Where We Are Now (which will remain my priority until it’s finished), wherein the BLU Specialist and Spy end up engaged in a relationship.

Tenatively titled:

Ever Seen the Rain

Let’s get one thing clear right off the bat, out of the gate, from the get-go, however you want to phrase it: you are not a bad person.

It’s the thing you tell yourself when you look in the mirror each morning. You’re not a bad person; it’s simply that illicit activities pay more than waiting or performing or nursing or guiding students in a library in this lovely decade of 1960–and things aren’t looking much better for 1970, either. You repeat it to yourself every day, and you’re certain you’ll continue to, even in this new “legitimate” position.

You are not a bad person.

But you might become one if your new associate doesn’t shut the fuck up.
