The problem with anti-matty healy discourse is that people can’t dislike him for normal reasons like being pretentious or not liking his band’s music; they just run with blatant misinformation and gaslight people into believing that supporting him in any capacity is some huge moral failure. Has he been an annoying white man who has done annoying white man things on occasion? Yes. Does it help that most of the people defending him are white? No. But to condemn him wholly when a quick google search will confirm that t1975 is one of the most left leaning artists of our generation is just bad form. You don’t have to be a fan but you can’t just mask your media illiteracy as virtue signaling are you people real 😭
