what's even more weird is that, our Supreme Court had already declared that medical checks to confirm a non-cis identity is illegal and humiliating and already told our parliament that they should not have passed this bill immediately. this was also passed on a day when the opposition was not in parliament as they had walked out as a protest for some other reason.

this might be just the first step in recriminalizing almost all queer rights.

I think he killed himself

Or at least he tried to. When he said “this is real?” It fucking hit me.

I don’t know if it’s from a drug overdose, personally I think that would be too obvious considering episode 7’s dream bit.

During episode 7, he experienced flashbacks of the real world. A neighbourhood, driving a car, driving into the forrest. In ep 8 Caine tortured him by using his body to floss his teeth and then spat out a car. He could have tried to drive himself into a crash but lived and somehow ended up into the digital world while he was alive but unconscious.

This entire time he believed he was dead and he successfully killed himself. Considering the absurdity of tadc he probably thought all the events were just here to torture him, so he resorted to treating everything around him like they weren’t real, probably as a defence mechanism. Or maybe he felt a sense of power or control by messing with everyone.

However, he’s not only bullying the others, he is also messing with the circus itself. I don’t remember how often this happens in other episodes but I remember in the pilot he took the piss out of a splash text and destroyed it like some cardboard cutout.

He’s scared of making friends and getting attached because of the trauma he likely experienced in the real world, but also because if he cared about anyone in the circus, it would hurt if they abstracted.

The scene in episode 6 where he forced pomni to shoot him changed for me after seeing ep 8. In his mind none of this has consequences because he is already dead.

In ep 7 he gradually started to panic because the idea of this place being real and him still being alive terrified him. He wanted to write it off as an adventure by Caine. He didn’t want to go back to being in the real world so he pressed the button.
