Soon, Kris publications were carrying Etienne art in every release, selling photographic reproductions of the drawings. Oddly—or not, depending on your point of view—none of the photos of the model named “Steve,” real name Dom Orejudos, ever made it into a selection sheet, catalog or magazine. They were never offered for sale. In fact, apart from whatever role they played in connecting Dom to Chuck and whatever private pleasure they may have given Chuck, their primary value was in Dom’s choice of “Steve” as a model name. That’s because, after signing a few drawings with “Dom” and “Domingo,” the artist decided to translate Steve to French—eh, voilà, Etienne! #Etienne
