It truly is mind boggling to me how some people pour SO much effort into a hate post, or write a huge long essay about how a movie sucked, a character was done dirty, etc.
Like, I get it. We all need to vent sometimes and I know it can feel therapeutic, but surely you can find something a little more positive and constructive to do with your time?
And I feel like these people almost never take into consideration that the thing they're bashing could be something another person loves dearly. This is why I (almost) never reblog things from a particular fandom just to shit on it. This is how tags get ruined for the people who actually like the thing!
If I don't like something, I'll just keep scrolling. Life is too short to go on and on about stuff you don't like! It's way more fun to focus on what you do like.

I predicted that while Wooly was threatening the player/Riley because Wooly was obviously a representative of Hameln in some sort of way, I *also* predicted that when he stressed "anything", he was also possibly referring to what happened to him and everyone else as victims of Hameln.
To put it more simply, to me he was/is saying: "You can't change anything. The damage has already been done. So give up." Kind of like, he was talking to himself as much he was Riley.
I don't know, just something about his tone sounds like someone who has given up and is bitter. Especially bitter that he let himself get pushed around so long and be manipulated.

Iβm gonna go on a tangent rn about the one and only,
Pawbert Lynxly
Pawbert, my god, his betrayal comes right on scene with one warning, Judy (and funnily making fun of the betrayal trope that everyone saw coming with him) and he stabs her! His betrayal comes on scene and for a split second I felt like, βaw man, the betrayal came! I shouldβve seen that coming.β
But then he catches her
And the entire time heβs apologizing while dragging Gary onto the snow to die, pleading for them not to hate him.
Instantly he becomes such an interesting character, instantly we start to see him in a new light that isnβt βwow ok, twist character whatβs new.β Heβs conflicting with his role right out the gate! He betrays her but cares for her??? He stabs her with venom that will surely kill her but doesnβt let her fall too harshly??? Fascinating!!!
Judy starts pleading for him that he could still change and Pawbert, looking into her eyes, sad but honest, says βI donβt want to be different.β He instantly transformed from a kid trying to do good despite what his family is, and into a kid who was raised with neglect and fear, wanting desperately to belong. He outright states that actually!
He looks into her eyes and basically tells her, βThereβs nothing you can do to stop me from killing your loved one and Iβm sorry you had to be caught up in this.β All with his eyes!!! His face!!! He genuinely feels sorry but itβs not gonna stop!
Then it pans over to this glorious scene
I wonβt lie, I forgot he was a predator. Yes the first movie made it clear on the racism between predators and prey and the like but during the second movie, I forgot? about it? It wasnβt in the forefront of my mind and it became instead a small part of their characters (ofc I know itβs not small, the movie just did a good job in making me focus on the plot).
It wasnβt until this scene, with him shrouded in darkness, with only his yellow irisβs glowing, stalking towards the light, that I was harshly reminded that he is a predator. The scene succeeded in making me feel threatened at that moment. At that singular, small moment, he wasnβt the awkward dork I was coming to love, a harmless animal who could never harm anybody, he was a predator with the intent to kill. (And technically already did with how he just left Judy and Gary with nothing)
He quickly finds the Beaver and he pulls the awkward, trusting guy act again! Almost easily in fact! It disarms the Beaver just long enough for him to strike. And I especially love the way they did it. They didnβt take forever for him to stab her. He stabs her immediately (we see him moving his arm!!!) and proceeds to keep trudging on, not even looking back!
Another thing I love is how the creators put in is the detail of him continually changing out the cartridges of poison. In a way it further cements the cold hard fact that he is continuously making his choices. He reloads the syringe, (not even looking at it mind you!), and proceeds to hunt for Nick.
Every move he makes, every step he takes is purposeful. He doesnβt feel like a villain who needs a good talking to from the main character to redeem himself. He doesnβt even feel like heβs one step away from backing out. Even though he obviously doesnβt like causing unnecessary harm to Judy or Gary, (or even the beaver,) he has a purpose and it makes him even scarier, even more threatening and itβs beautiful.
Thereβs a point thatβs made when Pawbert is being thrown across the room by his father in the next scene. We saw glimpses of his abuse from his retelling of his relationship with his family and when we first meet them. Itβs what I love about this scene, that they donβt shy away from how uncomfortable and sick it is. You even see the two siblingβs in the back not enjoying it. They are victims too. They just were able to get Daddyβs approval. Itβs the way Pawbert still seeks out his fathers approval even after getting tossed across the room that pulls at my heartstrings.
The slow descent into insanity is pretty funny, especially with the βThe Screamingβ reference, but regardless, in the end he doesnβt change. He became the twist villain and he didnβt even fully remove his defining characteristics. He kept his awkwardness, he kept his kindness, and he kept his one true goal; the goal he told us from the beginning in fact; he wants his fathers approval above anything.
Thanks for reading, I made this cause of the one scene of his eyes glowing and I knew I had to talk about it. :>

i hate the recent jim carrey conversation going on tiktok, that is obviously him, hes just older, gained a little weight and got some work done. this whole case just proves that people have no concept on how lighting and shadows work. it pisses me off that this is something weβre focusing on, when we should be focusing on whats happening in kansas to trans people for an example, or that the usa and israel literally started a war on iran and bombed a school, or the fact that rafah has been bulldozed by israel, or on the epstein files, the camps that immigrants in usa have been sent to, the still ongoing war in ukraine, or ai, or increased poverty, or the wealth gap, or climate change, or literally anything that affects the whole world and billions of people, rather than one single fucking celebrity who looks a little different. wake the fuck up. everyones too comfortable nowadays to do anything.
The Fellowship tumble out of the Great Eastern Gate on to a grassy sunlit hillside. Sam, Merry, and Pippin fall slowly to the ground, sobbing. // Frodo slowly turns, a look of numb shock on his devastated face. The Fellowship marches on.
THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING
dir. Peter Jackson | 2001
I think people underestimate what Frodo was going through when he had to carry the ring to Mordor. Sam is a legend, but Frodo is also a hero. Everyday for six months the guy would wake up and have a Bluetooth wireless connection to Satan himself. He only crumbled in the last moment, Tolkien has said anyone would have fallen for the ring, let alone someone who had been carrying it for so long.
Sam and Frodo are both hero's as they are a two package deal, if one succeeds, the other does too.
How is Finn such an underrated SW character? HOW?! He has a compelling backstory, arc, chemistry with every single character he interacts with, he's noble, empathetic, strong-willed, has enough realistic flaws to not be perfect, and to be frank, is one of the funniest characters (particularly in TFA).
Finn will forever stay my favorite SW character, and it will always annoy me that Kylo Ren is more beloved and hailed as such a complex character over Finnβand this is coming from someone who does appreciate Kylo's character, for the most part.

Seeing Reylo in fans' "couples in SW" collages never fails to piss me off π€ It's fine if you ship them, but stop acting like they are/were ever official, dammit
