I’ll, uh, call you later.” He gives his wings a shake, wishing to cleanse himself of the stink of smoke. No such luck. He brushes a hand along the surface, plucking things caught in the white plumage. A long kept secret exposed by the sickening reality that he is not the sole person in the room.
