The Plaza de Santo Domingo is known for the illegal activity of falsifying documents, however, this place houses a large number of historical buildings and good proposals of Mexican cuisine among its streets. Located three blocks from the capital's Zócalo, between the streets of República de Brasil, República de Cuba and Belisario Domínguez, Santo Domingo is the second most important square in Mexico City. It was built during the 16th century by Dominican friars, who settled in this area to begin the construction of the Temple that bears the same name. The esplanade is surrounded by various buildings that frame the course of Mexican history. Properties such as: The Church of Santo Domingo, the former Palace of the Holy Inquisition now the Museum of Medicine, the Old Customs Building and the Hostería de Santo Domingo, must-see places when visiting the area. Santo Domingo is recognized for its famous portals, which were built by the evangelists, with the aim of offering notary services to people who required the writing of all kinds of documents.

Ubicada a tres cuadras del Zócalo capitalino, entre las calles de República de Brasil, República de Cuba y Belisario Domínguez, Santo Domingo es la segunda plazoleta más importante de la Ciudad de México.

Se construyó durante el siglo XVI por frailes dominicos, los cuales se establecieron en esta zona para dar inicio a la edificación del Templo que lleva el mismo nombre.

La explanada se encuentra rodeada de diversos edificios que enmarcan el transcurso de la historia de México. Inmuebles como: La Iglesia de Santo Domingo, el ex Palacio de la Santa Inquisición ahora Museo de la Medicina, el Antiguo Edificio de Aduanas y La Hostería de Santo Domingo, lugares imperdibles en la visita de la zona.
