You and me against the world, right?

I am not ready to lose them

So, I went to the press night of the Paris Games Week and I bumped into Alejandro Arque, the game designer of all the Life is Strange games including the season 2. (I was actually surprised he recognized me after our last chats at the Gamescom). Anyway, we discussed Before the Storm a lot and I could get a few hints about the last episode:

As we all suspect, the last episode will be fucking intense since they have wrap up everything. He wasn’t allowed to tell me if it will be longer or not.

Beware of Eliot ! Long story short story, he talked about people calling Eliot the new Warren, ‘cause for him they’re really different. He asked me which one I preferred. I answer that I didn’t like any of them 😅 but if I had to choose one, I would go with Eliott ‘cause he annoyed me only for 2 episodes compared to 5 for Warren.  He was quite surprise and hinted me that I shouldn’t trust him. Then we talked about his obsession for Chloe and nodded to it. So my personal guess is that Eliott will probably go nut on Rachel or something, but from what I get, the weirdo will definitely gonna make something bad in the last episode. Plus remember what Samuel said about him.

I knew from the Gamescom that there will be a tough choice in the end of the last episode. It will be like in the first season with 2 possibilities but Zak Garris (lead writer) told me in an interview that there will be slight differences in the endings regarding your choices, compared to Season 1 with only the Pricefield kiss, but you shouldn’t expect too much .

So, regarding that last choice, Alejandro told me that it would define Rachel & Chloe’s relationship, but it’s not about them being girlfriends or not. He insisted that it would be a really tough choice, so be ready for the feelings.

Don’t expect any interaction between Rachel and Frank, it’s too soon in the story for them to meet.

I talked about how ironic it was for Rachel to be mad at her father for cheating knowing that she (possibly) has several relationships at the time of season one, which he answered, “yes, it’s very ironic indeed, you’ll understand why she’s that way in the last episode”.

Talked about the tattoo option and how it supposed to be the canon thing, and he answered that no. He actually didn’t remember it was mentioned on the missing posters.

Regarding that one dialogue everyone loved with Steph in ep2, Alejandro shared with me that someone from his family coming out helped a lot, and they worked really hard on it to make it right. They didn’t make Steph as a romantic choice for Chloe so she could meet someone that could somehow guide her, “Steph knows were Chloe comes from” in term of coming in terms with her sexuality so that piece of dialogue was important.

From what I get, Steph will have some kind of important moment in the last episode “she will be what you need her to be”.

As for the Farewell episode don’t except Ashly to come back, they will not replace the Before the Storm cast ‘cause “it wouldn’t make sense”. As for Hannah reprising her role as Max it’s too soon to tell. The episode will be released 8-10 weeks after ep3. They’ll communicate later on when it takes place and everything.

  On another note we talked about the criticism of the LGBT+ community of the final episode of season 1. They are really aware of it, “we didn’t communicate on it, but it made us really sad”, but they understand what we reproached them. Some might be bitching about it, but he was truly sincere.
