Owning a farm can be a sacrifice, it means you are tied down to chores twice a day, every day. There are no days off because animals always need to be fed, the cow always needs milking. We often laugh that there are so many easier ways to make a living. But it’s not about easy or hard, surely for anyone who farms if they measured their reason for doing so based solely on that they would quit that day. It’s about the lifestyle, which may not be for everyone, but it sure is for me. I could look at it as sacrifice or I could look at it as purpose, every day, twice a day, not wanting to leave because what we’ve created here is a dream. A hard, exhausting, sometimes devastating, fulfilling dream. And I wouldn’t change one single loss or triumph for anything else in the world.
