TIMELESS AND MULTI FUNCTIONAL DESIGNS OF EVA DI FRANCO
Eva Di Franco is an Italian designer who's focus is to create wearable and multi functional clothing that are timeless as well innovative.
Keywords that describe her designs include fabric manipulation, modularity, texture and balance. She designs transformable clothing that is not inspired by seasonal trends and is able to adapt to any occasion.
What I mean by this is that one piece can be worn in several different ways and can be changed in seconds while it's worn.
A strong inspiration from the Japanese culture is present in each piece Eva creates. Her love towards the Japanese aesthetics manifests in the forms of streamline and powerful cuts that are not obvious and behold that delicate yet powerful presence in her designs.
I've seen one of her presentations in London where the models entered a space wearing these clothes that were transformed into different shapes and silhouettes. By just a mere movement of the one wearing her pieces the mood was changed - the piece had become something else.
This ideology of sustainability and transformation is extremely fascinating in the sense that as all of us dress by how we feel. One might not be dressed from day to evening but by wearing Eva's design one piece will shift from day to night in seconds without being any shape or form "gimmicky".
This element of the garment and it's design gives the true sense of what is innovative in modern fashion design. As if these pieces are like us humans, ever changing as our emotions.
Eva Di Franco has tapped into the core of the fact what it is to feel and live in one's clothes. This is design that is like you - Unique and ever changing.
BIO
Eva Di Franco
Italian.
Born in Livorno, Tuscany, in 1986.
Graduated in fashion design in 2010 in Florence, then moved to London, UK.
Winner of the ARTEX Firenze exchange program with Japan, spent one month in Kyoto, Japan, collaborating with five different textile companies, discovering how the traditional japanese Shibori works and felling in love with japanese culture. Ended up eating pizza with chopstick and wearing Tabi socks.
Postgraduate In London in 2013 at London College of Fashion with a certificate in Pattern Cutting, experimenting on modular cuts and "no waste" philosophy.
In 2013 interned at Felicity Brown and Yang Li studios in London, assisting designers. In the same year started to design and produce collections.
The first seasonless capsule came out in April 2013 as 2enty26: essentially black and white convertible pieces.
After 4 years in the big smoke I decided to come back to Italy in 2014 and designing under the name EvaDiFranco.
The first collection "Whites" came out in May 2014.
Started lecturing in the fashion department of FUA Florence University of the Arts.
Last outwear capsule "Few Days in Salerno" includes one off pieces, old school textures rewinding to the rich beauty of the fabrics from the Renaissance.

THE ELEGANT, EDGY & EDITORIAL BEAUTY OF MARIA VITTORIA BORTOLUSSI - A TRUE INSPIRATIONAL STORY
Maria Vittoria Bortolussi is a make up artist hailing from a small Northern Italian town currently based in London.
Before entering the world of fashion and beauty she was focused in her passion for language studies/ culture and traveling. A degree of Chinese studies and Anthropology under her belt she left to Beijing to continue her path as world citizen and then everything changed.
She met people working in the fashion industry and she realized her true calling - beauty and fashion.
Thank God for that as she is beyond talented when it comes to beauty and make up artistry. Her body of work is fascinating with a capitol letter. The essence of elegance, edginess and editorial flare are always present.
I don't say this very often but I think she is very special as her work speaks in so many words and emotions. It may be just make up for some but to my is art as it's finest. A person who has found her true calling.
Who know that she had it in her? This talent that is so pure and effortless that it would have been an utter shame if it would have been left suppressed.
Her story is so inspirational to me and surely for many of you out there that please take the time to read her story below by her own words.
I give you Maria Vittoria Bortolussi.
BIO
A little bit about myself: I was born and raised in a small city in northern Italy. As a child I used to spend all my time drawing, painting and reading but growing up I didn't know I could make a career out of my artistic inclination.
Because of my passion for languages/cultures and traveling I decided to embark in a degree in Chinese Studies first, and obtained my Master's in Chinese Film and Anthropology from SOAS University of London.
I then moved to Beijing where I lived for 2.5 years, studying the language and traveling in East Asia. While in Beijing I got to know an American makeup artist who was working there. I became fascinated (rather, obsessed) with makeup and started assisting her on photo shoots and fashion shows. After a few months it became clear to me that makeup artistry was my true calling... I started testing with photographers and worked there for a bit, but then decided to move back to London 1.5 years ago to truly hone my skills.
Besides building my editorial portfolio and my network, I assisted several top level makeup artists until one day I literally bumped into my makeup hero, Mary Greenwell (princess Diana's makeup artist and mentor of most of today's top artists... she shaped the industry along with Sam McKnight in the 80s and 90s and worked with all the most legendary people) and couldn't help but stop her to tell her how much I admired her work.
She was incredibly nice and gave me a chance to assist her on a shoot a few weeks later. We hit it off straight away and I have been working with her for the past 6 months, on set with people like Peter Lindbergh, Cate Blanchett, Keira Knightley, Tom Munro, Nick Knight to name a few.
I am currently working to build up my book as well, with fashion and portrait editorials featured in British Vogue, L'Officiel Brazil, Elle Brazil, Tirade, Idol, 1883, Seventh Man, Lui Italia, Billionaire, etc. I speak Italian, English and Mandarin Chinese and live in East London.
THIS IS A TRULY INSPIRATIONAL STORY!
Please have a look of an amazing full editorial where Maria's skill set shines as it's best on the main page of the PROJECT VFORVESA

ROMÁN GABRIELLA - THE MODERN FOLKLORE IN THE FORM OF FASHION DESIGN
Román Gabriella is a fashion designer born in Marosvásárhely. After graduating she has been focusing on her HURO Me collection which is adapting folklore elements in to modern women's wear clothing.
The first thing I noticed was the intricate mixtures of fabrics and textures that this young and fresh contender clearly has a true passion for.
It shines through how much thought has been put towards creating the perfect textiles with the mixture of modernity and the traditional aesthetics of folklore.
The thought process is truly working as the end result manifests in the form of most beautiful textures which look extremely luxurious yet wearable.
Whether it is weaving techniques, paneling traditional beading or patchwork folk lore has never looked this sexy.
This is design for women who are not afraid to stand out and express themselves through their clothes.
Román Gabriella's vision of how a modern day woman should dress is clever, intriguing and far from boredom. It is almost as she has found a way to make a "showpiece" design so wearable that it can become a stable piece for any woman's daily wardrobe.
This is the future of fashion - Beautiful clothes that are meant to be worn and not just gazed over.
BIO
Gabriella Román, fashion designer born in Marosvásárhely with her HURO Me collection focused on establishing the wholeness of the Hungarian and the Romanian culture hence her main target is the propagation of this mixed culture. Taking into consideration the origin, the tradition and the elements of folklore, in her clothes- with coupling folk motifs and textiles- the tradition of both cultures is being envisioned; however in this harmonious play none of them is actually dominant. The pieces in the HURO Me collection are made for such nonconformist women, who love colors and art, and who are proud of their origins. After finishing university, Gabriella is currently working on establishing her own brand, furthermore meets smaller or bigger order engagements.

NO ATTACK - THE MODERN DAY URBAN UNIFORM / MENS WEAR
NO ATTACK is a collective of young designers hailing from Poland.
This collective brings forth designs for the modern urban man who's uniform is everything but average.
References taken from the ancient Egypt give these clothes that "warrior" essence and the signature silhouettes of this ancient era are nothing more than exciting.
Men's wear is rapidly becoming more innovative and intriguing across the globe and that is because designers like NO ATTACK amongst others who continue to push the limits of how man can dress.
NO ATTACK flags for individuality and encourages men to have a voice through their clothing. This is an important message as we all know the options of how a man can dress one self is just a sea of boring shirt and trouser combos or subtle suiting.
Well NO ATTACK want to change that and they already are.
NO ATTACK's designs include a variety of T-shirts, jackets, trousers, tops and shorts that are definitely not boring.
As I browsed through their collection I felt a strong sense of excitement and couldn't help but repeat this phrase in my head " I want that! "
This brand has a very strong design aesthetic and it shows. Every single piece of the collection is in cohesion with each other without being repetitive of one another.
It's as if the more pieces you mix together the better the armor gets.
I would wear these in a heart beat as this is urban street wear as it's finest. These clothes are about empowerment.
BIO
Look at the city. The streets are crowded with men of one single design. They hurry to the places where they work or are schooled. They leave their houses and join the traffic, get on the subway and gather together, while looking actually in the same way, that is, looking as nobody. There is nothing to say about their souls, their distinct personalities being dissolved in the ocean of everyday business in which they are forced to swim, and their bodies treated as cogs in a machine directed from above. In the eyes of the rulers of this world, they have just one face. But real men always want to speak for themselves and defend what they choose to believe. They must have their true faces put forward and wear the apparel that make them look different from cowards, and bores, and poseurs, and all those nerds around.
Now the ancient warriors are coming. There is darkness and brightness again. There are signs of rebellion against the uniformity imposed upon this world. These are men of character having no fear to be reproached, no fear to free themselves from the tyranny of their masters’ steady looks, no fear to oppose mediocrity born out of the modern desire for a homogenous society. In short, they fear no attack. And who should be scared of them is another question.
NO ATTACK is a new European brand created from the scratch by a group of independent young designers from Poland. We look for our inspiration in past civilizations like that of Ancient Egypt with her mysterious symbols left on the desert. We are also impressed by those currents in present-day culture that make for the change in our common attitude towards life goals and values. There are good reasons not to be satisfied with men’s styles they require us to take in the city. The time has come for something new to wear for the real men who cannot wait. At the same time, we can derive our strength from the past that reminds us of the world manned with heroes. After all, the war is not over.
Real men fear no attack.

Video: PASSIONE Director: Egle Oddo Camera and Editing: Jari Järvi Photography: Jussi Syrjä Actors and singers: Marika Krook, Helena Lindgren, Jorma Uotinen The video takes inspiration from the musical and theater show PASSIONE, designed and directed by Marika Krook, Helena Lindgren and Jorma Uotinen. The show is an unprecedented, life-flavored concert of Italian and Neapolitan songs - love, passion, contrasts, and dilemmas in women's stories from the 30's to this day. The songs, presented to the public though a narrative mise-en-scène, have been partially translated in Finnish by poets and song-writers. The new musical arrangements have been inspired by Pietra Montecorvino's interpretation. Star singers Krook, Lindgren and Uotinen, have chosen to involve in the show the splendid performance of top musicians Juho Pitkänen, Ossi Maristo, Jarkko Rantanen, Kasperi Kallio. A truly immersive experience. The artists wish to thank the Cultural Office of the City of Helsinki, and The Kone Foundation.

PATRICIA ANDRADE - LITTLE ESCAPES
Patricia Andrade is a London based photographer who captures the essence of everything happening around her.
Whether it is a space, street corner, a face, a crowd or just a moment she experiences it she will capture in the most beautiful way.
Her work is almost a non stopping photo journal of how one sees and feels life and what it is truly to be aware of one's surroundings.
What really is the most amazing and captivating element of her work is that it always starts with a reason. How does she feel and how the subject, place or atmosphere inspire her in order to take a photograph.
This element is the key of of capturing that pure nano second of the true essence of the ever flowing stream of time. That single breath of a person or the gloomy street lights caressing the graffiti painted walls of London just minutes after sunset.
These images make you feel that you were there on that exact moment and can't help but feel privileged to see something so personal - a glimpse of Patricia's journey. Her life.
It takes a lot of courage to put so much of one's self in a piece of work, but that is why it is so special and extremely beautiful.
Patricia is a modern day poet but instead of words she tells her story through images and trust me her story is magical.
BIO
Photography is my life long passion, is my art ... in a way my escape.
My name is Patricia Andrade . I currently live in London.
My photography always starts with a look , something has to catch my eye before the lens, something needs to touch me , to give me an emotion , a story and a memory that I can revisit again and again.... that is the magic of photography, a memory that never fades away.
Nothing gives me more happiness than escape with my camera to a little magical place in the world and shoot. I tend to do that a lot, but the world is big and am not half done yet.
Make sure to see rest of her work and all of her little escapes @
