Star Wars Battlefront Beta Draws Nine Million

In Star Wars Battlefront’s Beta Test, which took place from October 9th to the 12th, over nine million users logged on to preview EA’s new fall blockbusting title. Hopefully the insight gained from player feedback will lead to a very strong release next month (including the fact that the Rebels had little chance of defeating the Empire in Walker Assault).

Bethesda Releases Live Action Trailer for Fallout 4

Bethesda Softworks released a new, live-action trailer, titled “The Wanderer”, for their new game Fallout 4. The trailer gives a preview of the main character and his canine friend, as well as Boston’s nuclear wasteland.

Nintendo Began Shipping NX Software Kits to Third Parties

According to the Wall Street Journal, Nintendo has been shipping out software kits for their NX console kits. Based on the company’s actions, it’s predicted that they will be unveiling a system that is part standard console, part mobile component that operates independent of the home console. It is also speculated that the NX will be released early next year, the same timeframe a Nintendo spokeswoman says an event will be held to release more details to the public.

In ancient Rome, the townspeople and their representatives would meet and discuss in a building known as a Curia. Enter Project Curia, a gamer-focused social media startup and a virtual meeting hall for the modern age. Project Curia is here to make online gaming more fun than ever before. With our Player Connection Tool and Smart Matchmaking service (both free of charge, of course), we connect you with gamers that have similar gaming, personality, communication, and decision-making styles. If you like to be aggressive and run and gun, we’ll pair you up with someone that plays the same. If you’re an adventure who likes to go off the beaten path, we’ll find you a teammate.

The idea of Project Curia was born out of necessity. As video games become more advanced and requires more dedicated memory and speed, one feature is being phased out: local multiplayer. I had spent hundreds of hours on splitscreens playing games with my friends, but that is no longer an option. My friends didn’t have the same games, or even the same systems, as I did, so I had no one to play games with that I knew. This was especially difficult in games like GTA V and Destiny, where online co-op is essential for their Heists and Raids.

This left me dealing with the players I was given in online multiplayer, a sea of poor network connections, team killers, trolls, mic-screamers, and offensive tweens. I was almost turned off entirely to playing online multiplayer because I didn’t think that my experiences online were fun. And when I’m not having fun with these games, I’m losing a lot of that $60 or more investment I put in for the game.

So I decided to change the game. I designed a survey that would analyze playing style, personality, decision-making, and communication preferences, and connect us with people we actually want to talk to and play with. This survey is the Player Connection Tool. You will then be taken to the Smart Matchmaking System, where you can view your resulting matches and connect with them.

There are many other services we’ll be launching with the site that will be described here in the next few days. This Tumblr will serve as our base of operations until the site is complete, so check in regularly for updates, and also keep an eye out for our Indiegogo campaign that is launching soon!
