I don’t care if I’m revealing my location. Last night, my house was destroyed from the Old Trails fire burning in Spokane, Washington. I have my family, my pets, but nothing else.
I won’t have anyway to make money for a while, so I need donations. I’m displaced but currently at an Air B&B for now.

Would Ritch be up to doing a double suicide if someone offers it to him?
He would but then play if off like a joke and then get really uncomfortable with the other person and then hes kinda entering therapist mode because he thinks thats his responsibility
the smiths and radiohead being ritch's favorite bands are very important to me avtually because one is "im so fucking lonely" music and the other is "im Going to kill myself" music and both of those sentiments are core to ritch's character.
hes such a lonely person and he constantly denies peoples victimhood because he was always taught that being a victim is the worst thing you can possibly be. he blames people for the bad things that others do to them because in his mind the solution is what he's been doing for years: just leave/run away while choosing to ignore how he himself stayed in a bad situation for a long time because He gets the excuse of not knowing it was a bad situation just yet
also ritch wants to kill himself sooo soso sosososo bad but hes scared of doing it himself so every day he gets sad he woke up then goes to working hoping theres a car malfunction or someone hits him or someone shoots him at work or just a million different things but at the same time hes scared of dying because the only one who would go to his funeral would probably be his abusive mom

AITA: I (m13) am trying to watch LOtR but the guy behind me keeps talking
CW: overdose, alcoholism, attempted suicide, bad home situations
Ritch sits in his room, staring blankly at his TV as he tries just to watch the movie he's seen hundreds of times. Lord of the Rings rolls on as it's supposed to, and Ritch hopes it can just be distracting enough to ignore the man lying on the couch behind him.
The guy’s his mom's boyfriend, by the way. Some guy she’d started dating a few years back that she was trying to convince to lock her down, but thanks to the two being the human equivalents of repelling magnets being taped together, it just Wasn't Happening for Some Reason. To Ritch, the guy was cool. Taught him to ride a bike, by all means, he’s the longest male figure Ritch’s had in his life, but like. Dunno, it's weird because his mom couldn't decide if they should be friends or not. About a year into the dating, she told Ritch to call the guy Dad. And he does, he’ll call him dad around her and when talking out loud, but Ritch wasn't a moron, he knows that's not really his dad, but he taught Ritchy how to…
Well anyways. Whenever the two fought, Ritch used to go out and hang out with Him, because he was always doing something cool with tools and crushing beer cans. Sometimes he let Ritch play with a hatchet, since they were all up in the woods and there were trees everywhere. Ritch got to be a mountain boy. But of course, his mom didn't like it because she thought that Ritch was taking His side. So after she told him Ritchy isn't supposed to take his side after they fight, he’d sit with her after the room and listen to her rant to him about how much her boyfriend sucks. Which didn't make sense to Ritch because if this keeps happening, she probably should just leave. That's how that all works, right? It's how it was with every other short boyfriend. Why is this guy different? After a while, Ritch started to just sit in his room and avoid both of them after they had fought.
That all kinda leads to this. Ritch was sitting in the living room trying to watch a movie he's already seen because they were fighting again. It was all simmered down and her boyfriend was sitting outside drinking beers. At some point, the cabinet opened and shut. Another point he stumbled into the living room and lay down on the couch, and Ritch moved onto the floor.
“... what’re you watchin?”
“Lord of the Rings.”
“Cool, cool… I like this movie.”
Ritch stays quiet because he doesn't want his mom to walk in and see him taking His side by sitting so close. They sit in silence and watch the movie. For about five minutes.
Her boyfriend reaches out. Grabs Ritch’s shoulder a little too tightly. “I’m gonna die, ya know. I just took a bunch of Benydril.”
Ritch furrows his brow. Curling his knees to his chest. The guy's hand is clammy on him.
“... why?”
“Because of your mom.”
Ritch reaches his hand up to hold onto the others. Feels a lump forming in the back of his throat because he doesn't want Him to die. Because that’d be messed up, he doesnt want people to die. Before he knows it, he’s crying like a baby and Legolas has just barely entered stage right.
Ritch’s shoulder receives a firm squeeze, and while he just wants to watch his movie, he also knows hes the only one around to be nice to his stepdad. Leaning his back against the couch and letting Him play with his hair.
“But I dont want you to die.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Please don’t die.”
Theres no response. Ritch reaches up and squeezes His hand. His hand squeezes his back. Ok he’s still listening.
“I love you.” Ritch mumbles out. Wiping his eyes and nose on his knees. “Please don’t die, Dad.”
Another squeeze of the hand.
They watch the movie quietly for a while longer.
Gandalf does some shit.
“... You’re a good kid, Ritchy. Ok? You’re a little badass, ya know that?”
“Mhm…”
“I’m serious, Ritchy. Ok? You’re the only good thing in this fffucking hou… house.”
“Ok”
It all blurrs together. His mom checks on them. But she keeps her thoughts to herself the best she can, probably able to tell the guy doesn't have the energy for another round of arguing despite the original fight being hours before. But eventually the movie ends. Credits are rolling and as Ritch moves away to change the movie, his mom's boyfriend has the energy to get up and leave Ritch alone. Ritch doesnt say anything. What is there to say? His moms boyfriend is gonna die. But, he stumbles to the bathroom.
Ritch plays the next movie and crawls back onto the couch. The spot is still warm and smells strong of sweat and alcohol. Ritch sniffs back his crybaby tears and tries to enjoy the movie.
He passed out at some point.
His moms boyfriend wasnt dead in the morning. Just really sick. His mom made sure to let Ritch know it was because his stepdad was stupid and dramatic. Ritch took that at its value.
Nothing changed. The status quo continued. Ritch was late to school the next day. But at least he was a good kid. That's all that mattered.
