At 21 years old, Raphaël Varane has already played a World Cup quarter-final, won a Champions League and a league title, and played over 80 matches with Real Madrid. His maturity is stupefying, his control of his post surprising, his technical ease impressive, his range immense, and his personality attractive. All those who have trained him allow themselves to say that we are speaking of an abnormal player. To  sum up his talent in a few words? He is fast, always anticipates, clears balls cleanly, can change the game and its rhythm at any moment, knows how to read every situation and place himself well, makes the right decisions, breathes intelligence, exudes calm and tranquility, inspires confidence, and is permanently at attention, curious and eager to learn. He is also powerful in challenges and commits few fouls––no doubt because he never dives and prefers to defend standing––and he possesses a huge quality of pass and kick, as well as height and a formidable header. He lacks no elegance and leaves nothing to chance, and in terms of concentration, of seriousness and attention, he serves as the perfect example.
