The earlier emotions broke as he felt guilty for his behavior. Almost like he could sense the emotions of the woman and unconsiously gave it back as if he were a child but a man and it did shame him to let such things get to him. He is a prince but he was going off of what he felt was done. Surely his father would lecture him to watch his own emotions.
