i dont WANT pride months to be over,
on the other hand...
Alright i'll never complain about anything my neighbors do ever again
the real question isn't "how is the surgeon the boy's parent when we know his father died in the car wreck" (answer: the surgeon was a woman #feminism). what we should really be asking is, "how is the surgeon?" how will this newly widowed single mother juggle her very demanding job, her son's grief (assuming he survives the surgery), and her own grief? after losing her husband so tragically, will she ever be able to open her heart to someone else and try again? how long will that take? is she fruity at all? can i have her number? the car accident wasn't my fault btw
every spelunker should go in with a cyanide tooth capsule so if they get stuck they can take the gentle way out instead of being tortured by the earth for 72 hours and then dying anyway

it should be an explosive device, so they widen that part of the cave at the same time and no other spelunkers will get stuck there
beautiful vision. i love the idea of a minecraft-style world where if you explode underground it just clears a radius

Don't turn away from this, and don't for a minute think that your behavior doesn't imply your agreement with that last guy, because as Palestine has become the omnicause of the American left to the point of ceding to fascism in our own country, the number of people I've seen mention Congo or Sudan or Haiti is minuscule. I no longer talk about the situation in those places on social media because the silence when I have posted was deafening.
The word genocide stays in your daily vocabulary but you didn't apply it to el-Fasher. As the aid community has begged for help for years, years, and now today has sent an open letter pleading with the United Nations for international intervention to prevent a repeat of el-Fasher in el-Obeid which is under threat of imminent RSF siege, you probably don't even know what country I'm talking about.
Don't look away. Look inside.
So you know how there are basically never any Jews in scifi? I've got this idea for a scifi story where it's your typical average joe wakes up like 200 years later in a post apocalyptic world and tries to get by and of course people don't notice the lack of Jews but at some point it comes up that the inhabitants exiled all the Jews to Mars or something. This would notably be unrelated to the apocalypse, and they'd be doing fine over there.
What did you think of it? The first story is really depressing and has Moses calling himself the son of God, and I'm having a hard time getting through it. I've read a few of the others, but then there's one where Anne Frank survives and says how the Palestinians should get to live in Israel. And I think there was another one where someone grew up in a world where Israel was never conquered, talking to somebody from the regular timeline, and not knowing what a Palestinian was and the person from the regular timeline being, oh yeah, of course they would have no use for them. I haven't looked up the individual authors yet, but I'm starting to worry and like haven't tried reading the rest of the book yet.
It was super hit or miss LMAO, in fact there were a few I skipped completely (one about Asherah that I genuinely couldn’t bring myself to keep reading) but there were a couple good ones about golems/space. There’s some Jane Yolen poems in there too that I liked. A decent zombie story too. It’s the perfect book to get from the library because if you don’t like it then you don’t feel bad about having spent money on it.
Some of them are so speculative they’re completely divorced from Jewishness anymore but some of them made me think “wow I sure am glad that’s not the real world” so I guess the authors achieved that?
I only happened upon it because I searched Judaism in Libby lol
i drew this at synagogue
Eccentric, neurotic, constantly asking questions, carries a heavy amount of grief, piecing ingenious shit together through learned skills and whatever is around. He is one of us alright.

Contemporary art haters will be like "i don't get it" and then not read the title or artist statement or the medium or the year or
something about Toy Story toys is so strange to me. versions of animated characters based on real world toys, turned back into toys that are slightly different than the actual toys. slinky dog with a rubber spiral instead of a classic metal slinky. the porcelain bo peep and cloth woody turned into jointed plastic action figures. when toy story 4 came out and i saw a $30 talking action figure of forky, a character made out of a spork and a pipe cleaner, i stood in the walmart toy aisle staring at it like cameron from ferris bueller's day off staring at that painting in the art museum
Daily gratitude
I don’t have kids
I don’t spend money on nicotine
I don’t gamble my money away on sports
I’m not reliant on a chat bot for all my life functions
My books/CDs/DVDs collection is plentiful
happy pride month to HIM
