I wanted to rewrite Minthara's story so that in act 1, Reynili discovers she's been brainwashed by the cult, and tries to free her. I did a ton of drow lore research for this! I'll print it as a book for Maji Manga Market in January!

Laff Riot was one of the silliest quests in the game and Reynili absolutely crushed it. Harvard stood no chance against a bard! If Minthara joined, it would've been even more lethal. She really has the makings of a stand-up the way she delivers those bars. It was really fun coming up with all these puns 😌
At first I thought maybe Harvard changes his jokes based on your character's race but apparently he always makes this joke about disposing of his drow employee that isn't even funny... In my game I couldnt figure out a way to off him without aggroing the whole tavern, so I just cast Tasha's Hideous Laughter. But the sheep thing is really something you can do in the game!
I made my Tav, Reynili, have a dream guardian based on her dad Tymmorris. I had no idea what the dream guardian was, but at first I imagined that her real dad was disappointed in her choice to become a bard instead of a bloodthirsty drow fighter. But as time went on, I decided I wanted him to be the one who supported her musician dreams! He's from a small Underdark town that worships Eilistraee, the good drow goddess, and he's the one who taught her how to be kinder and whimsical cuz he's also a poet. Tym moved to Menzoberranzan cuz he fell in love with Padmilla (Reynili's mom) who worked at her family's apothecary. But the family moved to his town after some years cuz of family drama and hating Lolth.
After he passed away, Reynili missed him so much. Without his mediating presence, pressure built up between her and her mom who didn't support her ambitions. When she couldn't take it anymore, she left for the surface.
The Emperor chose to appear as her dad cuz he looked in her memories and chose the dearest person to her who had passed, and made a believable reason for his being there on behalf of Eilistraee, so that Reynili would fully trust him.
In BG3 lore, typically only Lolth sworn drow have red eyes, given to them from Lolth at birth to instill fear in others, and Seldarine drow have light blue/purple eyes. I didn't know this when I was in character creation mode and gave Reynili red eyes 😅 now I made her lore so that she was born sworn to Lolth in Menzo, and then moved away. And her dad always worshiped Eilistraee, the good drow goddess so he has purple eyes. I think I read in D&D lore that red is just the most common genetic trait too. This happens before Reynili gets Volo's eye so that's why both of them are red.

Minthara already knows all these facts but she wants to indulge her crush and tell Gale to sybau. Gale is pissed cuz he's the one who taught Reynili these cool spider facts and now she's not giving him any credit!

When you meet Minthara and she probes your mind, I wondered what she would see if she looked in Reynili's mind? I learned bee dee es em is popular in drow culture... And she's a freaky little bard with mommy issues. Seeing Minthy was like seeing the stars for the first time!
I have a whole Minthara x Reynili story rewrite where Minthara finds out the gang has the Artifact, but the Artifact is also protecting her (like in the game; that happens if you raid the grove). Reynili knocks her out and takes her to camp cuz she feels bad for her, realizing she's being used as a pawn, so Minthara is kinda recruited in Act 1. She can't hear the Absolute anymore, and is super mad, but the gang asks her to take them to Moonrise. And she intended to betray them and basically deliver the artifact to her boss's door, until he turns on her!
Idk if an Orb of All Knowing exists in Faerun 😅
