I love how K Pop Demon Hunters points out SO many issues and so much commentary on the K Pop industry and K Pop idols in general.

The infantilizing of Baby Saja? A commentary on how fans will infantilize and "uwu"-ify grown ass MEN and the industry CAPITALIZES off of it.

The sexualization of Abby? The fact that so many (pretty much all) K Pop idols will be objectified and sexualized to hell, and how their bodies are always on point because the latter is unacceptable.

The fact that the Saja Boys made it up the charts with ONE single, while its implied that Huntrix has been around for YEARS and has worked their way up for fans? But somehow, are now being upstaged by a random boy group? It COULD show how boy bands and such make it up easier than girl bands. (Easy to connect those dots on why that is)

The Saja Boys going from all cutesy, pretty, and upbeat on stage to slouching and bleh out of sight? That shows how no matter how nice, bright, and lovely things seem to be, behind the screen and the cameras can be (may very well likely be) not the case at ALL. This COULD also be communicated through them being literal demons but being loved by the public for the image they put up, not what really is.

Very normal about this movie...

if I may add on, the way Celine & Gwi-Ma represent kpop companies and their mistreatment of artists? Celine being the kpop companies that pressure their artists to put on a facade and never be vulnerable. While Gwi-Ma is the kpop companies that never protect their artists from hate/ harassment and in fact profit of off it along with profiting off of the artists being infantilized, sexualized, stalked, etc.

Don't be harsh on other human being that you don't fully know about their lives that they truly live behind the curtains, dong-min guilty or not this not our place to say, people like us have no right to play "judge and executer" there's ongoing investigations and everything will reveal eventually till then don't harm him with nonsense or insult him,I've learnt the hard way how "so called fans" and public opinions that preferred hate over kindness k!lled people for nothing,I'm not planning to see another person I like going down this dark route again and never getting him back so please if he's proven guilty then quit him silently and let him live with his decisions it'll be enough what he'll pay for it,but if he's innocent and this what I believe he is let's support him and make up for all the hurt he gets from this case,it's enough he's been hurting since loosing his friend 3 years ago,so be kind to this fragile thing we all have that called feelings, this world had it's fair share of emotional damage humans let's not add more.

Ps. The apologizes he posted was for us who was concerned about him not to anyone else,he cares so much about his fans and family so don't make him regret this

for me it isn’t even “jinu should return” for fan service, it’s a question of what makes the most sense for the story. you have jinu who gave his soul to rumi, her sword subsequently changed shape because of it, and the last shot of the movie are of his familiars, derpy and sussie. those are things that are going to be hard to ignore in a subsequent movie. every time Rumi draws the sword the audience is gonna think of Jinu. If they acknowledge that night in any way we’re gonna think of Jinu’s sacrifice. Every time we see derpy and sussie we’re gonna think of their original owner, Jinu. He’s going to haunt the narrative no matter what, so not acknowledging him risks posing a giant question mark at best, and if they acknowledge him, they’re probably going to acknowledge rumi’s grief over losing him. And if they acknowledge her grief over losing him it won’t be expressed for no reason.

I also see people use Rumi’s perkiness at the end of the movie as proof that she doesn’t care and got over it quick but 1) wrapping on a note of tragedy and grief wouldn’t be a fulfilling ending, the movie isn’t a romantic fantasy, it’s about Rumi learning to accept herself, which she does by the end 2) if you’re over the age of 12 you should know grief isn’t linear 3) they didn’t know the future of the franchise, the ending HAD to be wrapped in a thematically resonant bow, not grief tourism: Huntrix back together, Rumi finally accepting herself enough to go to the bath house with the girls, returning to life as normal. How odd would it be for Rumi to suddenly stop in the middle of the alley as they’re chanting “couch!” to start sobbing over Jinu? Pretty weird, right? Yeah, that’s why they didn’t do it!

if they ignore the swords origin > plot hole

if they ignore derpy and sussie > plot hole

if they ignore the soul-binding night > tonal whiplash

if they ignore Rumi’s grief > emotional inconsistency

if they ignore the sacrifice > thematic failure

Tldr: Jinu isn’t optional lore, he’s woven into Rumi’s power, the worldbuilding, and the emotional stakes, so the story can’t move forward cleanly without dealing with him, which inevitably means bringing him back in some form.

I know everyone is pissed with the SML and I actually agree he's annoying and they give him too much screen time...but I'm so tired of all the hate my girl Hyun-Jin is getting like...this is one of the few times a kdrama (or a show in general) is not painting the woman to suddenly be so ready and so perfect to be a mother, like this is a girl in her mid 20s with dreams that were NOT to be a mother, like at all. Not only she just lost her sister, not only she's clearly STILL grieving a lot, like we saw last episode, but on top of that she has to come to terms with the fact she has TO RAISE this baby. And yeah maybe Tae-Hyung is going to help her now but she's not even fully sure of that, she doesn't know if he's suddenly gonna take off one day and be like I told you I don't wanna raise him (he won't, i know) but like that's the initial deal and of course things changed but...still. Like Imagine your whole life turning upsde down, you lose your sister, you also have to work hard both because you had a dream and you wanna achieve it and because YOU NEED to care for a toddler. You need to raise him, feed him, give him everything, even more because he lost both his parents, it's crazy man I cannot imagine how she feels, I cannot imagine how stressful this situation is for her, and I know she's not doing a good job, but maybe that's the point??? Who would in her place? Why does the woman has to be so good at everything and immediately, otherwise she is hated by everyone. Like, we always say it and everyone keeps proving it, if she was a guy, she wouldn't get even half the hate bffr.

Like, god forbid, she's trying to get away from all the terrible things, maybe she even likes to pretend things are normal, that she's just working a normal job and crushing on her first love.

I'm not saying this is fair to Tae-Hyung cause it is not. I'm not saying the whole SML storyline is interesting cause it's too much and he's also just not a good character and annoys the hell out of me. But give my girl some break, it's not easy on her.

You can dislike the writing, I understand that, but as a character no she doesn't deserve so much hate. Idk maybe for once we don't hate the female character and we try to at least understand her??

Because even if the writing isn't the best, her character still makes sense to me and is still very cool to have such a female character that isn't the perfect aunt with mother-filter from the first day she has to take care of this baby while ALSO having a man be an amazing parent who's mostly a stay-at-home dad and constantly tries to support her and help her.

I believe and I hope the point of the show is that eventually they'll find the way for this to be fair for both of them, so just wait, maybe you wanted a drama where they'd just be making out and raising a baby and being cute but this would not be realistic and imo it would also be boring so...yeah.

I hate how people down play the stuff that they've accomplished

Just them being a group in and of itself is an accomplishment

And for how long they've managed to stay together

I don't need them to go and win awards to show how great they are

The awards are meaningless if it's based off politics and the company you come from and not on talent

Because if that was the case they would have awards left and right

They just unfortunately got the s*** end the stick with a suck ass company

It was never the fans that let Kard down it was their company
