Pridaxus World Building

Despite many religious theories of the creation of Pridaxus, no one knows how the isles came to be. In current days Pridaxus is a collection of islands divided into four nations, Glimmerier the earth’s blessing, Elvenwick the scorched flame, Amphinis the wicked wave, and Idealps the highest peak. In the beginning days however this was not to be, and the isles were not as peaceful as we find in today. In fact the earliest people of the world constantly fell into fits of rage and waged war amongst each other for glory, for land, and most of all for power. In despite of all of the wars and anguish of the past the four nations currently live in relative peace.

Pridaxus is currently an semi open world, where everyone can make canon ocs in the world (adhering to character building rules). The ask/submission box is open so if anyone has any question for creating an oc, or about the world I am more than willing to answer them!

More war based propaganda from @irrelevant-subjects

Propaganda piece commissioned by Queen Noemie in 1055 of her daughter (and her friends) dressed as the 3 virtues of Glimmerier. Sanying as animals, Mai as flowers and Markalia as the harvest.

Spring 1040- Famine begins, though it is still enough to distribute)

Spring 1042- Conference of World Leaders happens in Glimmerier. Queen Raine, Princette Eerikki, Prime Minister de la Francavilla, and Noelani Pagonis (among others including members of Idealpian Parliament, Elvish Lords, Glimmerierian ministers, and ambassadors) to discuss crop shortage and needs of their citizens

Fall 1045- Prince Eerikki goes to have a private audience with Queen Raine in Glimmerier about how a famine would especially impact Elvenwick

Winter 1046- Elvish Lords increase funding to the military’s budget, and focus on remodeling guns (as of 1045 they would only be made for hunting and not other use) and explosives.

Fall 1047- Queen Raine dies

Summer 1048- Prince Eerikki meets with Queen Asteria in Glimmerier about his concerns as the famine gets worse and food becomes more scarce

Fall 1048- a second conference is planned, however later canceled due to the assassination of Prime Minister de la Francavilla

Winter 1049- The 1049 frost. 5% of the Elvish population dies from cold temperatures, and 12% die from starvation

Spring 1049- Prince Eerikki declares a state of emergency in Elvenwick and funds the military’s budget more, quietly preparing the people of Elvenwick to go to war

Winter 1051- Elvenwick lays siege to Glimmerier on New Years, Idealps signs the Alien Amnesty Policy (later renamed to Foreigner Amnesty Policy) which provides refuge to Glimmerierian and Amphinian refugees with Idealpian friends and relatives, and the mass exodus begins. This action takes Elvenwick out of the AoPN

Winter 1051- Sensing the political instability and her own health issues Elector Noelani retires and Elector Ione is elected in, though they work together to limit how difficult the transition might be.

Spring 1051- General Cerise is named the General of the Glimmerier army

Spring 1051- Idealps holds a vote in which they decide they will not help Glimmerier in war efforts, this decision couldn’t be voted in again until 10 years passed, or if Idealps declare a state of emergency. Idealps does however invest in the military. President Roman was scandalized during this ordeal and replaced with President Peel

Summer 1051- Elvenwick succeeds and Prince Eerikki names himself as Lord Protector and establishes the Insufferable Acts. Glimmerier would follow Elvish law, meaning male exclusive inheritance, non Elvish could not run for office, ladies were stripped of their titles, and Glimmerier was removed from the AoPN

Winter 1052- The Great Future Party begins to emerge under the guidance of Prince Erik

Summer 1054- After striking a deal with Chleda, Elvenwick invades much of Sweetfish, establishing it as a territory, severing a major connection between Glimmerier and Idealps

Summer 1055- King Alistaire and Elector Ione are invited by Prince Eerikki to discuss how much food, but after both refused The One Fourth Act and Mail Prohibition Act passed. The One Fourth Act changed the distribution of food, only giving the other 2 countries one fourth of the share of food. The Mail Prohibition Act increased taxes on parchment and stamps by 50% and doubled the price of sending mail abroad.

Fall 1055- Plantar Act was passed. The Planter Act required that all possible soil would be used for only wheat and potatoes.

Fall 1055- Prince Eerikki became Cardholder 001 for the Great Future Party. He implemented party ideals to his family (some of which also became card holders), the lords (most of which became card holders), and other governors to trickle down to their citizens

Winter 1056- Elvenwick bombed and sunk SS Germania with Idealpian students doing research

Winter 1056- The Frost of 1056 begins 30% of the Elvish population dies. Temperatures do not rise past 69 degrees for the whole year in Glimmerier.

Summer 1056- Prime Minister Hester van Loo is subject of an attempted assassination. Once recovers she declared a state of emergency, and schedules a vote once she recovers.

Fall 1056- Wilhema Chatham is declared General of the Idealpian army officially with Margareta Buckingham as her Colonel.

Fall 1056- The vote is held, Idealps revokes its status of neutrality and sides with Amphinis, who chooses Agesi Kehi as General and Ocelia Ilophene as Colonel

Winter 1057- General Chatham and General Kehi meet with General Novatina and name Daphne Agricola as colonel and prepare for war.

Winter 1057- Farmers revolt against the Elvish government and refuse to plant, leading to the Massacre of 1057. Noticing a new rebellious spirit of Glimmerierians the Elvish resolved to murdering dissenters and trying to crush the rebellion

Spring 1057- Combat starts again, Elvenwick passes the One Eighth Act. The One Eighth Act lessened the amount of food Idealps and Amphinis could have.

Summer 1057- The Elvish set a fire in Mossgrove Forest, resulting in the loss of homes of many of the poorest Glimmerierians who lived in the forest

Summer 1057- Ikra Bassette is named Colonel of Glimmerier, replacing Daphne

Summer 1057- The Devastation Act is passed. The Devastation Act permitted Elvish men from committing usually illegal actions in order to serve the Prince and Elvenwick.

Summer 1057- Elvenwick sought to destroy morale by killing specifically high ranking military members, including General Novatina, Colonel Buckingham, Co Colonel van Loo (brother of Prime minister), as well as relatives of the Queen, and injuring thr royal children, Princess Wisteria, and Lady La Lune. Ikra Bassette was named General

Spring 1058- Elvish General Willem Oosterbroek surrenders, trying to escape Prince Eerikki is caught and brought to stay in Idealpian jail

Spring 1058- Prince Eerikki is found guilty of most charges and sentenced to the death penalty
