Hello Everyone! My name is Samantha and I've been an avid Sims player since the Sims 1 days. I love playing with berry sims because the adorable aesthetics are too perfect ๐
The 100 Berry Baby Challenge is a colorful twist on the original 100 Baby Challenge. The goal is to have 100 babies, but over 10 generations of family gameplay. This style of challenge is great for any simmer looking to for more family-style game play, whether you use berry sims or not!
๐ Rules
The originally TS4 100 Baby Challenge rules are by SnarkySims. The rules I am following have been adapted for berry sweet sims by Tainoodles and can be found here.
๐ History
I started playing this challenge in 2020. Originally developed for Youtube (playlist here), I found that it was hard for me to stay on top of producing and editing high quality videos. I have also posted bits of the challenge on Instagram, though inconsistently. My goal is to reboot the challenge from the beginning here, meaning I already have THREE YEARS of content to add to the queue. I want the challenge to have a singular home, both so I can look back on it and so that others can enjoy it, too.
๐ Road Map
This is my roadmap for the challenge. Feel free to adopt or adapt it if you plan to do the challenge on your own!
YELLOW- My founder Sim is a yellow sim. Every generation's heir will have to inherit a yellow skin tone in order to be eligible to carry on the family.
PURPLE- This is the first generation spouse's color. This generation will be themed around desserts, meaning all of my sims will have dessert-themed names. The heir must inherit purple eyes and purple hair. [View Gen 1 ]
TEAL- The second generation will be the teal generation, and will be themed around crystals and stones. This generation emphasizes eco-living. The heir must inherit Teal eyes and Teal hair. [View Gen 2]
PINK- The third generation will be the pink generation, and will be themed around fruits and berries. The heir must inherit pink hair and pink eyes.
ORANGE- The fourth generation will be the orange generation, and will be themed around teas and spices. This generation also has a heavy emphasis on Spellcasters. The heir must inherit orange hair and eyes.
WHITE- The fifth generation will be the white generation, and will be themed around winter. This generation will live in Mt. Komorebi and incorporate winter sports. The heir must inherit white hair and white eyes.
RED- The sixth generation will be the red generation, and will be themed around music. This generation will incorporate werewolves. The heir must inherit red hair and red eyes.
PLUM- The seventh generation will be the plum generation, and will have a spooky theme. This generation will incorporate vampires. The heir must inherit plum-colored hair and plum-colored eyes.
GREEN- The eighth generation will be the green generation, and will have a garden theme. This generation will live simply off the land. The heir must inherit green hair and green eyes.
BLUE- The ninth generation will be the blue generation, and will have a ocean theme. This generation will take place in Sulani and incorporate mermaids. The heir must inherit blue eyes and blue hair.
PEACH- The tenth generation will be the peach generation, and will have a fabric and sewing theme. This generation will focus around traveling the world. After this, the challenge is complete!

๐Please Vote!๐ What should I post next? I have a few dozen of each in my queue...
Old or New Content?
More babies! Post gen 3 of 100 Berry Babies!
New and Fresh! Post Lisa Frank Legacy
Voting ended onMar 27
I am torn...
I am feeling more inspired by Lisa Frank. It's what I'm playing now, and I feel my screencaps are better and the content is more detailed...It's my first game in a totally berry save file, so it's also sooo cute and colorful...
... but also posting gen 3 of Berry Baby would give me some time to build up my queue for that if people are actually interested in seeing more 100 babies.
(above sim is from neither ๐ just thought she was cute)
Okay, so it was @berryconfetti is who inspired me to do this challenge with their original run of @100berrysprinkles, so it felt like such a full circle moment to be able to use their sim for my final generation spouse ๐ฅน. Honestly, it's part of what helped me get all the way to the end of the challenge, because I've always been soooo inspired by Jo's sims ๐คฉ I was so excited to use Burlap.
Burlap was such a fun sim-- he had the Jungle Explorer aspiration, which naturally helped set the theme this generation. While Tsunami took care of the more serious archaeological aspects of things, Burlap loved busting through temple walls and making jokes with skeletons. His Latin dancing skills were also pretty legendary.
Whenever I had no newborns in the house, I would take a 2-3 day trip to Selvadorada...even if it meant my kids were missing school. I built a vacation home there that was full of everything I needed for toddlers and infants, so the whole family would come along. They'd even come to the temples! I would just make sure to have food and toddler potties in my inventory. Outside of that, they lived in Tartosa-- a perfect little vacation unto itself.
In addition to Tsunami being a mermaid, we had two more mermaid babies this generation: Cashmere and Satin. It was super fun to get to make some peachy colored mermaids! I raised my final child of this generation, Taffeta, to be somewhat of a super sim. She completed all of her toddler skills to level five, and all four of the childhood aspirations. She also got the scouting aptitude trait as well as the responsible, good manners, and emotional control traits. She technically has the physical traits to be an heir... so we'll see if I end up using her for something else in the future!
I also have to give a big shoutout to @bimbles-and-simbles for their Berry Jungle Adventure Default Replacements [Found Here on Their Patreon]. The colors made this generation even more enjoyable for me.
Parents: Lily Plantain x Water Lily Lagoon Fresh( @cosmicamos-archive originally made this amazing sim for me, but unfortunately I'd lost some of the CC over time, including his original hair! I also dumbly named the heir Lily, which was too confusing with Water Lily, so I changed his name to Lagoon.)
Time Played: July 2024-November 2025 (wasn't sure I'd keep going...)
World: Sulani
Generation Summary
Lily grew up on the farm, but always knew she was a Child of the Ocean! She moved to Sulani to become a marine conservationalist, and fell in love with Lagoon Fresh there, who she didn't know was a merman ๐งโโ๏ธ
While they originally lived in a pretty nice house on the main island, Lily kept having to travel to Mua Pel'am for work, so I eventually moved the family into a converted shipwreck build there so that she didn't need to travel. Lily also had the Loves Cats trait, so she adopted her little blue cat, Fish, while she was still living on the farm. Fish was a staple of this generation, and fiercely protected the family by always attacking strangers haha.
We had a total of five mermaid babies: Island, Coral, Shore, Scuba, and Tsunami. It was my intention to turn Lily into a mermaid at the end of the generation because she had such a deep love for the ocean, but in the end she was happy as a human in a family full of merbabies.
Enjoy a few more screencaps than my other posts, as these are more recent and I am happier with them... and I honestly just have so much mermaid spam...
I also want to give a big shoutout to @incandescentsims for their incredible berry mermaid cc recolors. They have amazing recolors in general... and also the most adorable berry sims ever.
Parents: Shadow Midnight x Sorrel Plantain (I THINK @bimbles-and-simbles made him for me, but it's someone who has since changed their blog name so I'm not 100% sure, please correct me if I'm wrong!!)
This was my farm life generation! We lived on a quiet little farm in henford-on-Bagley, raising animals and growing plants. The inheritor of this generation, Shadow, was actually born a vampire but he always loved plants and his dream was to exist in the sunlit, so he cured himself of vampirism and bought his own farm.
Every week in this generation, we went to the Finchwick Fair and competed for ribbons. This was kind of breaking the rules for me, because I usually followed a rule about not leaving the active lot if I had newborns. I'm glad I did, though, as it was only for a few hours each week and it was fun to get the family out of the house and meeting some townies. In addition to our many cows and chickens, we had a little hamster called Thorn in this generation.
The kids in this generation were a mix of those who loved farming and those who wanted to get as far from the farm as possible lol, which was a fun story to tell.

Parents: Tenor Sforzando x Raven Midnight (by @disasterbri)
Children: Tarot | Storm | Luna | Salem | Slayer | Ash | Hex | Rune | Shadow | Mystic
Time Played: August 2023-January 2024
World: Forgotten Hollow
Generation Summary
This was my messy generation, by which I mean there was SO MUCH DRAMA! I had never tried to do a vampire x werewolf romance in the game, but let me tell you--- it's actually very challenging to keep them in love. Tenor and Raven were immediate enemies, and I couldn't get them to accept any nice socials from each other, so I had them meet at a bar to challenge each other at foosball for a few nights, and that progressively brought their relationship to a more neutral status so I could start building their romance.
Weirdly, I first had four wolf girl babies followed by four vampire boys, so there was a bit of a battle of the genders going on. I tried so hard to have all the siblings like each other, but failed pretty miserably at that. Raven was also a bit indifferent to her wolf babies, which was a little sad, but I liked it for story building.
In the end, I had Tenor take the immortal trait, so Raven and Tenor lived immortally in my game, locked in their weird love/hate relationship and sometimes checking in on their descendants.
I also have to give a huge shout out to @disasterbri for Raven, because my initial plum sim maker had backed out on me, and I requested a sim from them specifically, and Raven ended up being such an iconic matriarch in my game!
Welcome to my werewolf generation! This is the generation where I feel like I finally perfected having a theme. This gen really fueled me and gave me so much inspiration, partly just because Werewolves is a good pack. I built them a run-down swamp house in Moonwood Mill, with mismatched furniture and a grubby, homemade vibe. I usually gravitate towards clean aesthetics, so this was a brand new way to play for me and I LOVED it.
As fate would have it, Icicle, my inheritor to this generation had the Loves Dogs trait (I randomly rolled this), which was such an adorable detail. We adopted a dog named Ringo who would always howl along when we were teaching our little wolf babies to howl. I had Key turn into a werewolf at the beginning of the gen, and then ended up with four wolf babies by the end (Tenor, Harmony, Melody, and Lyric). I leaned into ripped up denim and well-loved t-shirts for the aesthetics and it really made this gen stand out in my mind. This was definitely of my favorite generations.
As a side note, @dcwnandout who made Key for me also did a version of this challenge many years ago, which is still on their blog and is adorable if you want to check it out!
The 100 BB challenge is an altered version of the original 100 Baby challenge, now you must have 100 babies over the course of 10 generations leading to 10 children each generation (mm yes math)
The original 100 Baby challenge rules can be found here by SnarkySims but the Berry altered ones can be found here by Tainoodles
This entire thing for me was inspired by @prettyprettyplumbobs and their very detailed sims family :] Also their posts are very well organized and I love it lol
The Plan
This challenge will be following the Bow family :] This is a general roadmap but it may change in the future
Also donโt expect any fancy work, I am an average sims player who sucks at portraits and has amateur building skills lol
Founder Sim: Purple (This will be the color thatโs passed down)
Gen 1: Coral (Candy Names)
Gen 2: Mint (Ice Cream Names)
Gen 3: Periwinkle (Flower Names)
Gen 4: Orange (Summer Names)
Gen 5: Magenta (Mythology Names)
Gen 6: Yellow (Beach Names)
Gen 7: Lime Green (Animals Names)
Gen 8: Turquoise (Gemstone Names)
Gen 9: White (Astrology Names)
Gen 10: Pink (Cocktail Names)
Donโt mind the inconsistency the with color names
Nutmeg and Wreath were easily one of my top couples in this challenge. I actually think this may be the only generation where playing out their relationship was more exciting to me than developing the (many) kids. Part of it was because Wreath (by @anxiousmoodlet) was an incredibly gorgeous sim. He had the childish trait, and as fate would have it, so did Nutmeg. The two of them indulged each others childish fantasies and built a rocket ship together in their backyard. ๐
Technically, this was my winter generation. I spent a lot of time taking the kids skiing, and hanging out in the onsen. I was also in the middle of this generation when infants were introduced, so I got to play with them for the first time, and it really changed the pace of the challenge!
Weirdly, I don't feel very attached to the kids from this generation, but Wreath and Nutmeg were the best dads
Am I allowed to tag you in a post for being inspired by your challenge? I know the rules were created by someone else but your blog was the one that I discovered and got me excited about sims again
Aw, absolutely! That's so sweet and I'd love to see your version of the challenge ๐๐ฅน

We're finally in our magic era!! โจ๐ This is my fourth generation of spellcasters, and we finally lean into that, move to Glimmerbrook, and make it our theme. We live in a haunted house, and many of our children practice the medium skill, even if they're not witches.
This might be the fastest I played any generation! Looking back, I can't believe it only took me a month. I This is also the only time in the whole challenge that I had triplets! I wasn't expecting Nutmeg to be the heir, since he was born only halfway through the generation, but Clove, Pepper, and Oolong came along all at once. I guess that's also why I was able to play it quickly.
How do you make your sim portraits? They all look so good and organized!
Aw thank you, that's so sweet!! ๐ For my 100 Berry Baby portraits, I just took them in game with some basic modeling poses for pose player and the Spa Day light-up walls as the background.
My only tips are:
Make sure everything is well-lit! Sometimes if the lights are too close to the sims, they can look reflective or over-exposed. I like using a smaller sized room as a little studio (4x4ish), as I find the lighting is the most even
For consistency, I always make sure that I zoom all the way in with the x/z keys in the Tab camera mode before adjusting by moving forward/backward.
I edit them a bit in Gimp, mostly just for saturation, lighting, and cropping. Occasionally I alter the background color if needed. I play on a Mac, so I sadly can't use reshade! That's really it ๐
This is when I started becoming kind of conflicted about having spellcasters lingering around. Pyrite, the founder of this generation, is a third generation spellcaster, but because I'd been so focused on just surviving with 10 babies, I hadn't had much chance to fully lean into the magical angle. I decided to try and incorporate some story, and framed it as Pyrite was hiding his magic from Pitaya. He would sneak off to the magic realm with the magically-inclined children while she was asleep. Eventually she found out and they got in a big fight because of it.
I was also really interested in making this generation excel at music, but it didn't really pan out because I was still so busy just trying to get by. This is when I really decided that for my own sake, I really needed to iron out strong generational themes moving forward, and eventually move on from just having everyone be spellcasters. I started to figure out was was possible and realistic to do with a generation, and my gameplay really shifted after this.
I queued up about half of this generation on Tumblr (roughly 50 posts), but I never posted it. If anyone would be interested in me posting it, let me know, as I still have the posts saved and would be willing to finish them.
Do you have any favorite/must have mods for game play?
Almost 100% of my mods are just for aesthetics! I don't even keep MCCC installed regularly unless I specifically need it for something.
I use a pose player and sim teleporter pretty regularly, and lighting mods, CAS/Loading screens.... but nothing for gameplay!
As a kind of exception, I recently put this Nap with Infant Mod by @simkatu in my game and the animation is soooo cute. I probably won't keep it long term though.
I also recently used the All Cheats Mod by Twisted Mexi to enable some cheats I needed for setting up my save file. I still have it installed for now.
I would be tempted by more aspirations, as that's an aspect of the game I often find lacking, but I'm mostly modless at the end of the day! I've also been tempted by the T.O.O.L mod for building, but I've never ended up trying it. Sorry to not have more to offer!
How did you get the two tone skin on the sim Jelly Bean if you donโt mind me asking? ๐

Here it is! It's one of my favorite berry details of all time. Unfortunately, the original post is gone, but the version above and THIS VERSION by @kissalopa are still available.

This was also a very long generation! My commitment to the challenge wavered. I was uncertain if I would continue posting it on youtube. I had some issues with recording that were very disheartening and I lost a lot of footage. In the end, I decided to keep playing, but not posting videos.
Eco Lifestyle had recently come out when I was playing this generation, and my intention was to explore some of those features. Alexandrite was a maker sim, and an eco-inventor. We had big issues with money in this generation, so it was one of the hardest for that reason! I remember the power kept going out, and we couldn't afford beds for everyone at one point.
Sprinkles was also a spellcaster, but mostly kept it a secret from her family. Later in the generation, when some of the other spellcaster babies were older, they took a few trips to the magic realm together, but this generation also didn't have a strong theme.
I posted this whole generation on Tumblr. You can view the posts here.
I also played some of this generation on youtube! You can still view the videos here.
This generation took me a very long time because I was attached to the characters and playing through it slowly rather than taking it as a challenge. I hadn't yet committed to any "themes", but I did use a lot of content from City Living, because I think I'd recently gotten that pack. Gateaux was a family-oriented sim and a stay-at-home dad who loved handiness and baking, whereas Frosting was an ambitious sim who was climbing the ladder in the politics career. Halfway through the generation, they moved into their dream city apartment in San Myshuno.
Towards of the end of the generation, Sprinkles and Creme Brulee (twins) stumbled into the magical realm and became spellcasters. Also featured in the headshots above is Taffy's cat Cream Cheese. Although I had several pets throughout this challenge, Cream Cheese is the only one who is featured in these character squares.
I posted this whole generation on Tumblr. You can view the posts here.
