How to make a roller coaster out of “stuff” from your local hardware store!  This is a great STEM project for the class room.

Working on this backyard roller coaster.  Eventually I will incorporate interactive questions such as velocity, potential energy, kinetic energy, friction, and many STEM concepts.  Now that the weather is changing for the better I can get back to working on this project.  

Prepdog teachers created roller coaster kits for the Boise State University STEM Exploration Day.  Students created a “roller coaster” for ball bearings.  The older the student the greater the challenge!  The day was a great success, we had around 50 participants every 15 minutes or so all day long.  If you are looking for a STEM activity for your class room this is it.  In just 15 minutes students can experience success, and then they are off to conquer the more difficult challenges.
