My current work is based around the ethos of healthcare marketing. My disdain for the healthcare industry's methods of increasing financial gain by targeting populations with health problems was the primary inspiration for developing this series. Because of a recent trip to the dentist and the inherent absurdity of isolated teeth I am using dental prosthesis and cosmetic dentistry as a visual tool. Absurdity is the main language of these works. They are humorous as well as dark, alluding to tactics used by large health companies. The models I have chosen for the works are another common thread. They serve as the visual representation of "Testimonials" or in other words happy customers satisfied with their purchase and loudly displaying how the products have changed their lives. They are featured in short 30 second commercials, 3d printed busts, and lenticular images. The prop used is a plastic 3d model made from a mold taken from my mouth, altered, then printed.
