Imagining that trope of warrior lovers who just finished a battle and the only thing they can think of is seeing their lover and reassuring themselves they’re alive before they do anything else. Shoving through the crowd, ignoring literally anyone trying to stop them until their person is in their arms and it’s not until they feel their heart beating beneath them that they can breathe again.
Ok great so picture the 141 on a mission and Soap and Ghost are on separate sides of the battle and it’s hours of taking down the bad guys and close calls until they wipe out the cell and every squad is rallied at the rendezvous already and some rookie watches as Soap literally bulldozes his way through them all to Ghost debriefing with Price and grabs Ghost and crushes him into a hug and the one’s nearby can hear Ghost softly saying “I’m here, I’m right here, made it through Johnny” as he soothingly rubs Soap’s back
Or another time when Ghost and Soap went on separate solos and Ghost returned last, not having heard from Soap the whole time since he had to go dark, and the helo hasn’t event landed properly before he’s jumping out, walking right past Price who’s waiting for him on the tarmac to debrief and marches right to Soap standing behind him, practically shoving Price out of the way, and when he pulls Soap into a hug, he gently places two fingers on Soap’s pulse point, visibly relaxing his shoulders after a couple of seconds
