She laughed softly, “I don’t think it was lame. More true than lame. I do have shoes to cover up the missing socks.”

"Really? I'm pretty sure it was pretty lame..." He chuckled lightly. "I'm glad to hear you still have your shoes at least..."

"Yeah, having your shoes back would be good. I’m alright, no missing shoes… I always lose socks though, left sock hill might become a mountain because of me."

"Well it's a good thing you have your shoes than, at least it can cover up the missing socks. Was that lame? That was lame wasn't it?"

"Well if it was me, James probably took them to convince me to go out with him in exchange for my shoes. For you, maybe one of them hid them so you’d go mental looking."

"Yeah, I thought about that. I asked Remus if he did it. Don't let his calm and poised demeanor fool you, he is just as sneaky as the rest of them. He threw a pillow at me."

"Sorry, I was just trying to think where they could be and help."

"I know, I'm sorry, that was mean. If all your left shoes went missing, what would your first suspicion be?"

"Where else could you have left it?"

"Where else could I have left all of my left shoes? I'm not really sure, I'm not in the habit of taking all my left shoes with me places..."

"I guess we just have to talk to him, and see what happens."

"You're right of course, I would just rather have my left shoes. How're you? Missing any shoes or socks?"

"I'm sure I will... thank you?"

"I don’t exactly blame them, they had fun at the dance."

"I don't really blame them either... but it does really only leave one more person who could have taken my left shoes... and he's not likely to give them back anytime soon"

"Oh to be in that dorm when they see the mess. Sirius will flip his hair, James will run his fingers through his and smoking 40 cigarettes, and Remus shaking his head." She cleared her throat. "Um I mean, I hope you find them." 

"Uh... yeah, thanks Evans..."

"Well, that was rude. Boys can’t use that excuse."

"In any case I don't think he knows where my left shoes are, and I haven't seen James in a while. Probably off with Evans."

"That’s a bit of bad luck for you, have you asked your dormmates if they’ve seen them? They can’t all be gone…"

"Yeah, I asked Remus, and he threw a pillow at me. I think it might be his time of the month."

"It’s probably in that disaster of a dorm of yours."

"I tore up that whole room! They're definitely not in there."

"Maybe they’re next to left sock hill?"

"Well, that's a possibility! If only anyone knew where Left Sock Hill was then we could find them!"
