The sleepless nights were catching up to him,   being on the run was always harder than it looked on TV.   Especially when he hardly was gone from his house longer than a week, and now it was going to be forever.   There were few times he was thankful to have such a rich family,   as he always had a near endless supply of money ― though it was substantially less than before his tech was found at that crime scene.

“It’s usually the other way around,” Pep said, a faint smile flickering on her lips for just a moment before they pressed into a thin, crimson line. She sighed quietly. Her maternal instinct had never truly faded, just one of the many quiet strengths of Pepper Potts. Almost without thinking, she reached out and brushed her hand gently against the young man’s cheek. A gesture of support, though tinged with a strange kind of melancholy.
