another thing that annoys me a bit is how mu qing and feng xin were the only people from the palace to stick around with xl+,the king and queen. You mean to tell me the king had no one by his side that managed to escape/was willing to follow him? No retainers or anything??the queen had no loyal palace maids that made it?but their son had two people? Clearly more people survived considering the bloodline continued (an le) (did qi rong die when the palace fell???) but still no one chose to follow? And i get that this question has the same answer as the why is xl the sole offspring and crown prince even after ascending, which is that mxtx simply didn't wanna write a palace drama, that's not what this story is about, but man the immersion
